Whilst holidaying in Busselton / Bunbury recently we were advised to head inland to a place called Donnybrook and look out for The Apple Fun Park.First up, you can't miss it as you drive into Donnybrook and there is ample parking facilities. The park has a baby/toddler section to it, which looks great. Our son is 6 years old so we only wondered by this as we explored the park. There is a play-gym (for better term) area in the park, which is right next to the baby / toddler area. Brilliant for adults and a good bit of fun for the kids trying to out muscle the old folks. The main park is a mix of climbing activities, slides, etc. which are generally expected in modern park, but the standard of this leaves many in the Perth Metro area behind. There are mini rock climbing walls for the kids (and adults) to play on.Best of all there is an interactive area where the kids have to chase lights on pads so hitting the pad to the beat of music and such like - I've never seen this in a kids play park before.Toilets were adequate but they really could be doing with a few more - expect waiting time when the park is busy, which often results in kids mis-timing things......Across a quiet street there is a small cafe where you can buy things to eat and drink. The park also has BBQ's for use. There's ample shaded areas; although, we had to rough it with a mat on the concrete during out visit - it was busy after all.Definitely recommended if you're travelling in that area.
Went to Apple Fun Park today with the family and can't praise it enough. Very happy with the variety of equipment for all age groups. We have a near 4 year old son and a near 2 year old daughter and they did not stop all day. Toilet facilities were very clean and the BBQ area well kept. The only downside to the day was the flies but when you are in the south you can't avoid the flies so don't forget your areoguard.Well Done DonnybrookThank you!!
Come with your whole family and your friends to the Fun Park here. There is something for everybody.Bring your steaks and sausages and have a BBQ festival there or just sit in the shade and watch the kids playing. Relaxation pureand also it is totally FREE
Wide variety of playground equipment. Good sized grassed area with plenty of shade, large carpark and clean toilets.
Situated just. 2 1/2 hours from Perth, donnybrook has a lot to offer. Gorgeous countryside, great fruit and veggies from local farms and orchards and an enormous playground for children. There is farm stay accommodation along with other options. Great school holiday option.
Amazing park so much to do for the kids, BBQ on site, cafes and ice creams very nearby, we stay here for hours!! Can be busy at the weekends
Seeing is believing at the Apple Fun Park. It is simply the most impressive playground you will see. They is a bewildering array of sess-saws, slides, climbing frames, stairs, ladders, merry go rounds, fitness equipment, musical toys and modern amusements to enterian the kids. Plus ther are numerous tables under shade covers where lunch can be eaten and toliets on-site. Just behind it there is a shop selling some food and drink and across teh road/railway line there is the Donnybrook main drag. The playground is totally enclosed with fencing as well. We must have spent close to 3 hrs there which really exhausted the kids.
This has to be the nicest playground and its free!Such a good selection of playground apparatus all on soft sand and totally enclosed with fencing. Large shade covered BBQ areas, complete with BBQ 's that are free to use.A lovely little snack shop across the road for meals, coffees and ice creams!Well worth a day out!
If you have children. Don't go through Donnybrook without dropping into the huge playground. Let the kids go wild and gave a BBQ. Great spot !!
great place fo the kids plenty to do in a safe enclosed enviroment so as a parent you could relax a little more not having to worry children were going to stray onto the road. clean ammenities. bbqs worked well.
Words cannot describe this park, it is enormous! Great fun for children of all ages, even a workout section for adults. Fully enclosed, with seating, bbq's and grassed area. Bring a picnic and waste a few hours. Coffee shop across road. We had to bribe our kids 2 and 3.5yrs with a trip to the bakery to leave. About 30mins from Bunbury or Busselton, well worth a trip if you're holidaying in the area.
I understand that this park was part funded from someones private estate - the park is fantastic for kids probably up to 12 years - take a picnic and make a day of it - there are local coffee shops etc and toilets on site? Also pick up some local grown fruit - fraction of the super market price if you buy a box?
Firstly the Fun Park is Free. A very extensive playground set up that is exciting for toddlers to 10 year olds.
Such a awesome playground with a great variety of equipment and so big! The kids (5 and 3) totally exhausted themselves and cried when we had to go home.
This is the coolest park about the size of a rugby field and so mant different activities for the kids (and big kids) to enjoy. Definitely one to visit
