This park is around 75-80 Kms from the CBD, but the roads are great so should take less than an hour in ideal conditions that we had. Parking is ample. Toilets are accessible. Lots of things to do in the park, its pretty vast too. But worth the drive indeed.
The reviews of this say it is the most picturesque inlet in WA. Sorry, it's totally uninteresting, just a vast amount of water, intersting lapping sounds of the water on the shore. Picturesque???? I really do not think so. We drove 70+k's from Esperance to visit this site a total waste of time. HOWEVER, there some amazing caravan parking sites, the amenities are immaculate. Not too sure if you have to pay to camp, what a place. Peace, tranquility, clean air. Many wild plants.
Camped 2 nights there. Walked to the day use area good secnery very quiet and enjoyable.Clean and quiet camping area
We walked the estuary out to the beach. We set out only to walk to a corner to see what was there, and then the next and then we saw the sand bar and had to get there. A Whistling Kite soared above us and we didn't see another soul in four hours - so peaceful!
Spent a few hours at the park. It is not a place I would camp. Too far from the beach for us. It is on the estuary. There are good facilities with a gas BBQ.
Actualaddress is:Stokes National Park, Farrel RoadCoomalbidgup, Western AustraliaWhich is just west of Esperance off the South West Coastal Highway. Well worth a visit to Moirs Homestead though in wet weather a 4wd might be needed. We got there in 2WD but some places were a bit touch and go
