We stayed just one night in Carmelo but we loved the spiffy little ranch style addition across the street from the big hotel and casino in Playa Sera. Playa Sere hotel. They are run by the same folks, our check-in information and passport pictures were taken across the street at the big hotel. Our room was spacious, the bathroom was the best we'd had in Uruguay and there was a little zoo next door and nice breakfast buffet in large dining area central to the 10-12 rooms on either side. We had a great winery tour at Irurtia one of the oldest wineries in Uruguay by the great granddaughter of the founder, Mari-Noel Irurtia. Do go there. She was so down to earth and friendly with a good eye to what each of the four of tastes were for the tasting part. She gave us a ride back to our hotel.The neighborhood is full of lovely homes and a big wooded park with restaurant/bar and an ice cream/snack shack and an artist stall area, tourist info booth before the actual beach area. Lovely and peaceful place. I thought about retirement here but I don't speak Spanish well enough.

Very nice and quite beach close to the port and downtown. There is a nice restaurant at the beach DAgostina with reasonable prices and very good food. There was a noisy event during the weekend but on MOnday...it was excellent.

Wonderful beach away from the crowds. Lively, with lots of trees an places in both the shade and the sun. Beachside restaurants, camping spaces. Great place to read a book, relax, and have a picnic.

Es una linda playa sobre el Río Uruguay, con arena muy limpia. Tienes allí un lindísimo parador Lo d'Agustina, situado a la orilla del río con una hermosa terraza donde puedes degustar pesca de río excelente, rabas, y excelente cerveza. Precio calidad muy bueno. Recomendable

Sombreada y tranquila. Es una linda playa de río de arena blanca. Buen paseo no solamente para el verano. Es un buen lugar para pasear en cualquier época del año.

hacer una regia caminata todas las mañana por ese lugar revive el alma y se resapira oxigeno.hacerlo de mañana temprano.

Playa de arena fina, no barro, con un lindo entorno y arboles en la orilla para tener una buena sombra y estar fresco.

Me encantó estar en una playa y a la sombra de los arboles. y el ambiente familiar. El agua era muy tibia y el río se veía limpio.

Las vistas son sorprendentes. Tiene libre acceso. Las aguas del río uruguay son límpidas. Hay mesas, sanitarios, y servicios. Un lugar que invita a la paz. Ojo! Los fines de semana se llena de gente. Es un apreciado lugar de reunión de los lugareños y turistas.

hermosa y limpia playa... su arena es amarilla..la mejor, es el atardecer y ver la puesta del solpara visitar!

Parques y arboledas circundan una playa vistosa y soleada.Muy cerca se encuentra el hotel Casino Carmelo y el centro de la ciudad.Hay locales y restaurantes sobre la playa.Una hermosa playa para familias.

no es un lugar maravilloso, pero tiene la virtud de ser un escape distinto en Carmelo. Es lindo para ir y conocer, pero le falta armonía, calidez y tal vez un poco de orden e infraestructura.

La tranquilidad de la playa, donde podés dejar tuscoas tranquilamente. Poder banarte en el río limpio

Praia de rio e neste dia estava bem quente a agua. Nao parece bem com nossas praias, mas bem calmosuas aguas.

Lugar ideal para dormir una siesta debajo de un árbol. Playas limpias. Ideal para ir en familia. Es un lugar muy tranquilo. Los baños públicos son grandes y están limpios. Hay varios paradores donde comer.
