While I lived on the island I went and camped at Puerto Chino. It is such a beautiful beach, with a lot of rocks. I surfed there with a few friends and the water was so clean you could see turtles swimming in the distance. It does require a taxi or a friend with a car to get there but it is absolutely worth it.

It's absolutely beautiful but the whole time we where there tábanos were attacking us! so as they love salt my advice is to quickly grab your towel and get dry as fast as possible to avoid it

The distance from town requires an all day bike, or a taxi. The taxi we took cost $50US. The driver told us $70, but we advised him that we were told $50 by the hotel owner. "Ok, $50." He said without hesitation. That price included a half hour stop at El Junco, the dormant, fresh water lake filled volcano. This was, at first, a let down until we took the time to appreciate the tranquility and the gentle mist that is usually there. Nice short climb and walk around the rim. The next stop was at the semi-natural tortoise habitat. Semi-natural only because there are some breeding sections, and man made pools, but otherwise it allows free range for these unique creatures. The final two hour stop is at the beach. We rode some nice waves and enjoyed the nicest sand ocean floor we had seen on the island. Snorkeled around the point to see multiple marine turtles, and a shark. The bluff to the right is a regular hang out for blue footed boobies. It was well worth the $50 split three ways. Rode home in the back of the taxi/truck because we were wet. It was a little brisk climbing back over the volcano, but not uncomfortably so. Great day!!

A beautiful beach with good swimming. Lots of nesting blue boobies at the far right (as you look at the sea) Plenty of seals, iguanas etc. It is about a 10-15 minute walk from the car park along a well made stone path.

Gorgeous beach with emerald waters, but not clear enough to snorkel in because of the sand. Long taxi ride from town, long hot walk from the road to the beach.

Bring Deet or you will be miserable. Beyond the crabs we did not see much wildlife and the sand was quite sticky. There are many preferable beaches - I would skip this one.

Fantastic beach, blue turquoise waters, lots of Galapagos sea lions, you can also see turtles and many birds including the renowned blue-footed boobies.

Nature. Liked every thing. Galapagos at its best. T he place to visit if you are in San Cristobal. Nothing to dislike.

Very quiet and secluded beach. Wonderful views, saw blue footed boobies. Current a little strong but doable. One of the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen, even in pictures.

LeopardSeal

Pretty place, somewhat removed form the hustle and bustle (that's a good thing). Watch currents/surges/underwater rocks! Climb surrounding cliffs to get a better view into the water, and to find the elusive blue-footed booby!

I was very frustrated as I had not seen blue footed boobies and it was my last day in Galapagos. I really wanted to see them and thank God I came here! I climbed the rocks and there they were! I could take great pictures and they were sooo close! The beach is beautiful and you can see lots of wildlife. Loved it.

next to the beach are some rocks where you can climb up to have a nice view and where you can also see the blue footed boobies. You can also camp at the beach.

Puerto chino was my favorite beach I visited while in the Galapagos. There were many sea lions, multiple sea turtles, and even a sting ray. The water was clear and beautiful. I loved everything about it.

Did this as part of a $60 taxi trip around the island and it was impressive for its scenery and wildlife.plenty of sea lions, boobies etc.
