The bread and pastries here are really, really good. We tried a donut, a pecan pastry (my favorite: it was like a flaky inside-out pecan roll), a ham and cheese croissant, a loaf of bread and soup for lunch. Oh, and coffee. Have been twice in 3 days and will probably be back again!

On our way out of Stykkisholmur, my wife and I stopped here for some kleina as our guidebook (Andrew Evan's in the Brandt series) called it the best in Iceland. Unfortunately it must have been so good that they were sold out.The helpful girl at the counter suggested we try their astarpungar instead. We thanked her, smiled at the local bikers enjoying a snack, and headed out to the car.The astarpungar was delicious (and the rest of their food looked delicious too). I'm glad that we left to eat it on the road as we would have purchased far too many otherwise.I would definitely come here again, hopefully to try the kleina.

Entrando in Stykkisholmur c'è questa panetteria con i tavoli all'aperto ottima per consumare un veloce pasto. Panini e dolci ok.
