We were hugely impressed by our visit to the museum. A large range of interesting vehicles, friendly staff and 3 hours well spent. We will return when we go back to the Island.
I had not heard of this museum until recently though I am a Limassolian. In fact I had primed myself to be disappointed with what I thought would be on display. I could not be more mistaken!! Rows of beautifully preserved vintage and character cars including Mr Bean's Mini, Makarios's armored car and many more dating a century back. When I saw the pictures of some cars before their restoration I was amazed at the loving care that Dimis Mavropoulos has shown towards his favourite topic. The owner, Dimis, is a legend of the car world in Cyprus, being a leading rally driver and car enthusiast. If we were to bestow a Nikki Lauda award for car person of the century for Cyprus it would go to Dimis! He has placed so much love and effort in this museum that one can only applaud the dedication of the man. I was very happy to note that his daughter has been bit by the same bug and the museum has a future caretaker in place.A very strong recommendation!
is a very good effort. I hope the government see this and give them a proper help. Cyprus need this.
Being a car guy myself, I couldn't resist the temptation of visiting the museum during my Cyrus visit last May. Though not many classics can be seen on the roads, it truly surprised me that such a museum exists and my visit to this awesome museum was indeed memorable. I liked the idea of many different classic models on display and all in great condition. And Mr. Bean's Mini was unforgettable. Well done guys ... & best wishes to the Management team of this Museum.
An amazing and unexpected little jewel near Limassol. Some cars of character interest, and many cars of a great age, dating back to early 1900s. And all in running order, and showroom condition!Well worth a visit by anyone with even the slightly interest in cars.
We ahead planned our visit to the Cyprus Motor Museum before arriving to Cyprus. Our aim was simply to watch retro autos and show them to our 9 years old son. However, a visit to the museum exceeded our expectations. The cars collection includes vehicles since 1912 year and almost each exhibit has its own history. On entrance, the museum owner met us. There is very friendly staff. During the tour we were accompanied by personal guide which told us about each exhibit and its interesting history. There are few guides which speak few languages by your choice. The exhibits have very simple access to them and possibility to sit inside. The museum is located near Limassol. There is a large parking lot and snack bar. The tickets price is €7 for adult and €5 for a child.
I was very impressed with the variety of cars and the excellence of their condition. Warm environment and welcoming.
Great value by European standards! Very accomodating staff and well documented histories of all antique cars. Excellent club as well and antiques rallies every month make this a wonderful place to visit over and over.
My husband and I visited last week on our way back from Paphos and very easy to find. To our surprise it was an enjoyable experience and a very reasonable entry charge. The cars were immaculate and a very interesting collection, well worth a visit.
We stay locally in kolossi and decided to pay a visit to the museum today with our 6 year old son, we are glad we did. It is really easy to find, just along the road from poplife. It isn't too expensive either €7 for adult and €5 for a child, there is a really good collection of cars varied from the 1930's through to modern day times, my favourite car was the porche 930 from 1982, this car looks amazing in the museum, a smart red colour with matching leather seats, this car was worth the visit alone, definitely a museum worth visiting.
Well worth visiting to see the most immaculate cars, motorbikes and even an old Hoover! Even the last mini to be produced, one of Mr. Bean's minis and a 1912 Model T Ford. Just celebrated its first anniversary and first car auction. Just follow signs to Ypsonas, near Limassol.
