The Monastery of Agios Savvas is on Top of the hill overlooking Kalymnos Port on one side and the Aegean Sea with the island of Kos on the other. It is a Nunnery and a feeling of serenity takes you over the moment you are inside. The Church is magnificent where the body of the late Saint Savvas lies in Peace! He is the Patron of the poor and when you visit his little room ans see his personal belongings you will understand understand his holiness ! Calmness and serenity will engulf you !

Great view of Pothia, Chorio, Kos, Turkey. The Monastery is a quiet place, you can find your inner peace. Saint Savvas , if you have faith, will fulfill your prayers.

Went to light a candle and to show my daughter. Very atmospheric and beautiful views of Pothia. I'm told the shop is interesting too. Worth the visit.

The Monastery is beautiful well worth a visit, it is so tranquil and serene, definatley a place you need to take a camera. We took a taxi to the Monastery as its not the easiest place to get to, the taxi driver said he was happy to wait for us while we looked around and then take us back to Pothia.

We were very lucky to visit here as part of our tour with George Diakomichalis. It was so beautiful, very well kept by the nuns and so peaceful. The views were pretty amazing as well.I highly recommend a visit.

The awesome views of Pothia that one gets from the monastery is by itself reason enough to go but for the spiritually minded there is much more. Surrounded by stunning Byzantine style architecture the relics and possessions of St.Savvas who lived on the island at this precise location are on display for veneration by pilgrims. The main church is Stunningly decorated with religious murals and frescoes which make your eyes light up and which leaves you in awe. Overall it is a must when visiting Kalymnos.

You need a car to get up to the monastery overlooking Pothias from a lofty height. Some interesting rooms to investigate but no information or anyone around. It's free but I would have preferred to pay and get some information about the premises and what life was like for those who lived/live there. Still worth a visit if you are in the area, though.

Overlooking the town of Pothia. Amazing church with exquisite carvings and artwork. Ossuary of Agios Savvas. Very awe inspiring. We were given mini tour by a very lovely nun. She explained so much, and did it so beautifully. Unforgettable.

Ωραίο και θαυματουργό το μοναστήρι του Αγίου Σάββα εχει καταπληκτικη θεα στην πρωτευουσα,την ποθια και τα απεναντι νησιά ως την Τουρκία!

Το μοναστήρι του πάτερ Σάββα, όπως το αποκαλούν οι ντόπιοι, είναι χτισμένο στην κορυφή του βουνού.Το τοπίο ήταν πολύ βραχώδες.Οι πολυετείς αναδασώσεις από τους κατοίκους του νησιού, καθώς και η φροντίδα των πιστών, είχε σαν αποτέλεσμα την καλαίσθητη εμφάνιση της περιοχής. Φθάνοντας το πλοίο στο λιμάνι, δεσπόζει στην κορυφή του βουνού, ο μεγάλος σταυρός του μοναστηριού Αν αντέχετε ανεβείτε πεζοί και η ομορφιά του τοπίου θα αποζημιώσει την προσπάθειά σας.

Poti'den saat 12.00 de kalkan tur otabusleri (10 euro/kişi)in en gözde durağı. Kiliseden tüm potiyi kuşbakışı seyretmek ve fotoğraflamak mümkün. Kilisenin mimarisi ve duvar resimleri boynunuzu ağrıtacak kadar etkileyici.

Noi siamo stati con il tour organizzato, e anche se in inglese ci ha spiegato tutto sul monastero e sul santo (Savvas) vissuto credo fino a 15-20 anni fa e della sua vita. Tutto pulito e bellissimo da vedere. Dal Monastero si godono varie viste. Ci sono da visitare la chiesa centrale e alcune cappellette.Ma andate con la guida se no vi perdete la metà delle cose da sapere.

Το μοναστηρι αυτο βρισκεται κοντα στο λιμανι του νησιου. Προκειται για ενα χωρο που πρεπει οπωσδηποτε να επισκεφτειτε!!!! Η θεα σου κοβει την ανασα.. Ο χωρος μεσα εβλαβικα προσεγμενος και με πολυ καλη υποδοχη απο τις μοναχες.

Dit klooster dat hoog boven het hoofdstadje Pothia van het eiland Kaymnos ligt is zeker de moeite waard voor een bezoek. Goed onderhouden en fantastische uitzichten over het hoofdstadje en de fraaie blauwe zee aldaar.
