Well worth the drive to have a wander along this rugged piece of coastline. We were lucky enough to have a cove all to ourselves, just washed clean and flat by the high tide. A memorable place.
It's definitely well worth trundling over to this side of Kos, so that you can spend an afternoon on the less crowded beaches, and take in the best sunset on the island from the deck of the Agios Theologos. The staff, especially the proprietor, provide very good recommendations and do an excellent job looking after their guests. We shared a plate of seafood spaghetti, recommended by the proprietor, and were very pleased.
We 'stumbled' upon this restaurant in 2013 and when we re-visted Kos this year we purposely travelled for it.If you want a traditional Greek Taverna this is it! absolutely fantastic food with a beautiful view and lovely friendly staffA must have in my opinion is the Humous, absolutely delicious!
Also called wave beach this is great for a quite afternoon watching the sunset. its so peaceful and perfect. Favourite beach and a must visit!
If you're going to Agios Theologos, this will be the final point of your drive to the west:park here and go further walking....you'll find plenty of little lagoons, windy or silent, rocks or sandy, nude or not. After swimming, get back to not-co-little restaurant for a snack or serious food-this restaurant has menu that some city restaurants would envy. Not only that, they serve REALLY GOOD food. We had two Ag. Theologos salads (basically, greek salad with goat cheese, wholemeal toast, caper and balsamico) and tonic for 13,80 euros and it was excellent. They also, served it very fast, so it looks like the whole family that runs it has routine. I loved the trip to the west, and this meal was pretty much part of it.
Make time to visit Agios Theologos, have fun jumping through the waves (it will make you feel like a kid again. We can highly recommend the restaurant just up from the beach, Bobby & his team will take excellent care of you & the food is amazing!!!
Beautiful and windswept. Best of all empty!! Beach almost to ourselves. Lovely restaurant serving food with fantastic views.
Absolutely stunning view of the sunset. Lovely restaurant with high quality food and friendly staff! Definitely worth a trip of you are staying in the south of the island!
Quiet, peaceful with great restaurant. Loved the pebbles on the beach but disliked it being a car ride from the resort
located 10 minutes away from Kefalos driving south west, this place has a nice beach and a great restaurant.
Agios Theologos is a natural beach with a great selection of caves around it. You can even find a stoneless spot to enter the water. BUT! The beach is littered with all kinds of human trash, and the sunbeds and umbrellas deserved to be dumped ages ago. The sunbeds are 5 EUR, most of them are broken, and the umbrellas - crooked.
If you want to see a spectacular sunset and eat fabulous food then this restaurant is a must. To get a good table try to arrive between 7 and 7.30pm. The restaurant is a twenty minute drive from Kefalos but is another world away. The setting reminded me of Shirley Valentine !! Leo and the rest of the staff make your evening here an experience with their chat, and professionalism. If you are in this part of the world you must visit this restaurant and see the sunset and sample the great food.
We didn't visit the beach but the old religious "church" with the original dwelling still there but left to ruin but you can see how simple they lived and how cramped the conditions were. The church or praying area is beautiful as you can see and open. The murals on the wall and the painting are beautiful and open to the public. The roads on the way are horrible so be careful and lots of pot holes. The only traffic was goats and a few hire cars like ours. A nice place to get some great views and photos but not a lot to do although we didn't go to the beach so just reviewing the "church".
There is no beach here! Just rocks. People were lying on the rocks and it certainly wasn't going to be easy getting into the water. Plus the waves were quite big.
Lovely area with some very quiet coves to hide in. Not much in the way of sand but the walk along the shore is pleasant but watch out for the insects! Well worth the short drive from Kefalos to experience the tip of Kos island.
