rented a boat from Paxos and visited Antipaxos!! The magical island with crystal clear waters! it has no inhabitants and there are only a couple of restaurants that serve anything they have fished earlier that day! The Voutoumi beach has a great reputation as one of the world's most beautiful beaches and that was why we went to Paxos! I was surprised not to see it in lists of world's top beaches! We reached Voutoumi beach a little bit late so we swan for a while to enjoy the amazing water and then moved to the beach which was Vrika beach! It was amazing!! There is a little deck that helps everyone get off the boat but then our designated captain had to anchor the boat and swim to the beach! There are two taverns on this beach and their owners have placed umbrellas and loungers that are free! We had lunch at the Restaurant on the left the owner and his wife were the ones cooking and serving us! He said he goes fishing everyday and only serves what he gets... (it turned out to be true - we saw him one of the next days coming out of his fishing boat)!! If he hasn't fished he always tells the customers whether their fish is frozen or fresh!! our coffee was on the house and he sat there with us to have a little break and spoke about the Island!!We had a wonderful day! Antipaxos is one of the nicest Islands I have ever been to!
Went here also with a rented boat and tried to spend more time but just couldn`t, the beach is not so large, it has rocks and lot`s of boats, yachts, that ruin the view . The water is perfect though and we did get to see two full naked girls come to shore to wash some dishes and get back on the dingy and leave. so for that i have a lot of pictures of this beach and i will remember it .
Take your 30 hp hire boat round the top of the Island past Lakka.WEATHER PERMITTING. Cruise down the west coast. Look into the Blue Caves where all the day trippers and Captain Hook go for a swim but then look further up the coast when you see a rock like the Gherkin (Orthodithos?) Look for the cave hidden by it. How many times did the Greek submarine hide here in WW2?Looks perfect.Carry on then if sea is ok and you are comfortable with it, over to Anti Paxos and over to Vrika Beach and Tavernas for lunch.Try to leave by about 3.00pm as the sea tends to get a bit of a swell later. You may have noticed the sea change at the bottom of Paxos before you went over to Anti P. where 2 currents meet.Going back up the coast to Loggos and even so to Lakka can be great fun if you get a swell. Hold tight, not too much throttle!
Small beach area but free loungers and parasols? Great taverna on the beach Spiros. You need beach shoes or comfy flat shoes that you don't mind getting wet to walk on the rocky jetty for the boats
Perhaps the best beach of Greece ...Crystal clear cool cyan water .. You can not stop swimming !The rocks around you full of green and the beach with the best white sand!Visit this one and not the other one on the island called Voutoumi... Voutoumi is also crystal cyan coll water but the beach has only a narrow strip of sand and it is full of yachts that date to come close to the beach!
Paxos's beaches are very pebbly ( but still stunning). We took the water taxi from Gaios Harbour (10 euros per person for a return ticket). It was late July so the beach was rather crowded but it is very nice indeed - crystal clear water and white powder sand. A couple of tavernas which seemed popular, though we chose not to try them.
Waters=turquoise, beaches=white, SPIROS Taverna=idyllic, food=homemade, local & always sea-fresh, view=priceless
Lovely motorboat ride from the port of paxos to anti paxosClear and very fine sand, tyrqoise water, at excellent temperature.Freen sunbeds and umbrellas at our favorite taverna in this beach, Vrika TavernYorgos and his team are very friendlyGood food
Sea, sun, sand and choice of tavernas. We liked our stay as we had all we needed. The food was great. Fresh fish. We were offered a shower room after a swim in the sea.
above says it all plus superb tavernas.very child friendly beach all sand and gently sloping.access to walks arround the beautiful island of anti paxos were close at hand .the locals and the ferry pilots were extremely friendly.
We go to Anti Paxos once a year during our stay in Paxos. It is a short boat ride from Gaios and costs 10 euros return. There are two beaches where one can alight from the ferry. Vrika is the first beach and our favourite (although both are good). It is sandy with plenty of sun and shade plus very good and safe swimming. In the past we have taken our grandchildren who love this place. There are two restaurants on the beach, we go to the far one owned by the very charismatic Georgio. We always have a good lunch there. It is also possible to use Georgio's sun beds for free. There is a decent shower and clean toilets available. If you go to Paxos don't miss a day in Anti Paxos and Vrika beach. You will love the colours, the rock shapes, the safe swimming and the wonderful views.
Paxos while lovely does not have great beaches, but a 30 minute boat ride takes you to this gem. Turquoise water, powdery sand - just a couple of tavernas and you are all set for a great day.The beach isn't huge though and I'm willing to bet mid-summer there isn't a spare scrap of sand to be seen - so glad we visited in May.
We have just returned from our trip to Paxos to visit my wife's family and took a boat out for the day to antipaxos. What beautiful water! Yes it was off season and a little too cold to enter the sea but we will be returning next year in summer for an extended trip. The best beach we saw in Paxos!
wonderful!!!! everyone who comes to antipaxos falls in love with beach vrika. perfect getaway. eat here or pic-nic away!! just loose yourself!!!!!
This beach was just perfect! There were never too many people. The sea was crystal clear and the beach white sand.We preferred the taverna on the right as you face the beach - we had barbecued stuffed squid which was delicious. We spent most of the week there - just perfect!
