The grounds are beautiful (with so many plants, flowers, trees, etc.) and there's lots to see. The herb garden near the restaurant was great. The place is perfect for families - there's really awesome playgrounds everywhere and my partner's godson had a blast. The exhibition in the glass elephant was cool and the World of Lights (Herbstleuchten) was beautiful. Not something to miss! The Butterfly House was another highlight, the 8yr old godson was fascinated. We had a meal at the restaurant and it was quite nice.

Visited the park with a friend and my three kids. My friend and I could relax and catch up while we watched my kids playing in the many playgrounds this park has to offer. A visit to be butterfly house was a great bonus for all of us. The water playground was an absolute favourite with my three and I did have to be alert to make sure nobody got lost. The staff at the park weren't the most costumer friendly, but the park was very busy on the day.Make sure you have a nice refreshing drink or a bite to eat at the bistro on your way out - it's a great way to finish a lovely day at that park, especially if the day was hot and sticky.

Well what to say? When I wad little it was the highlight of many summerdays. You could climb and swim and they had one of those tunnelslides. Now I have been to the park recently and all I loved the park for was still there or made even better. The flowers and plants there are even more in numbers and gorgeousness, the playgrounds are modernized and have this special maxiparkcharme. You can still go up in the elephants trunk to find a nice artcollection "uptrunk". They have special nights with lightshows and fireworksdisplays. In short: it lost nothing of its magic and I will be visiting everytime I get a chance.

I really liked the place, specially because I could walk a lot around , play with the games that are outside for kids, even-though climate was not very nice that day, but I found it very entertainment. There is usually an outside exposition and when I went there was these statues representing people that live around the area doing what they usually do ( typical daily life). My favorite part was where the butterflies are ! I could be hours there !

Just the best place to take your kids for an active day out. We were there in autumn which is a bad time to go and we still loved it. Lots of playgrounds and activity areas. highly recommended.

A wonderful autumn lighting of the Maximillian park in Hamm, North Rhein Westfahlen, the park itself is really fantastic and then having it lit during the evening is wonderful, with so many different colors on the trees, plants and sculptures. Nearly as colorful as their well known sculptor Otmar Alt. It has the largest glass elephant in Europe and the City of Hamm's symbol.

Beautiful park and excellent events Christmas market was fantastic, but get there early as it is very busy. Viking event in Summer. Visited many times and love it every time.

Maximilian Park in Hamm was opened as "Federal Garden and Flower-Show" in 1984. The park offers plenty of walks on an old coal mine area with a lot of different playgrounds for children.there are Cafés and restaurants for a break. At the moment there is an open air exhibition till 21st October 2012 with roundabout 80 sculptures by the German sculpturer Christel Lechner, well known for her "Alltagsmenschen" (every day people) Alone or in groups up to 20 these life size statues are scattered all over the park. There is an entrance fee to the park, but in my opinion 5€ are not too much for such a lovely park and a wonderful exhibition.

The park is known for its elephant building built over an old mine shaft. Great walk for young and old alike. There is an entrance fee.

Looking for something different to do on a Sping Saturday we decided to give Maxi Park a try. We were not disappointed from beginning to end it was brilliant. Entrance costs - excellent value.Attractions and grounds brilliant the kids aged from 6 to 9 and maybe 40 as we are big kids loved it, play park upon play park, and lots of hidden activities. The Glass Elephant was fabulous!!! The butterfly house was in my daughters own words magnificent and she didn't want to leave and for a child who is terrified of animals normally I was amazed. It was a fresh spring day so just nice for walking and exploring. We are already planning our next visit!!!!!!
