I hated it because I wanted to go back to California. But it was scenic, romantic, great place that I should have explored more. ButI did have lots of fun along with hard Army work.I loved Muchen-Munich. I went to the wall a few times in Nurnburg. Only 12 Marcs and playboy quality beauties. Lol! Went to Zuric Switzerland, FrankfurtI REALLY, despite the homesickness, had a blast but used drugs alot. Sorry, not a perfect world and u want truthfulness,don't you?

Mariahilfberg church stands out in Amberg. It is worth a visit by car or a hike up the hill viewing some of the old villas along the way. Built as a promise when the Black Plague circumvented Amberg, it continues to be visited by all who come to Amberg. The architecture and paintings deserve your attention. Put a small coin into the mechanical machine on a the small left altar and watch what happens. The view from the steps is beautiful in any season.

This Franciscan monastery - Mariahilfberg/Hill of Our Lady Help of Christians overlooks the town of Amberg. It was quite a hike or rather climb - but truly worth the effort. My wife and her cousin wanted to give up halfway to the church, but so glad they persisted. This church became famous during the bubonic plague in the Thirty Years' War in 1633/4 when the locals prayed to the Blessed Virgin Mary to spare them from the plague. Our visit here must be one of the top 3 most rewarding experiences we had during this trip to Amberg and Bavaria. Highly recommend this. There is a cafe where you could rest, dine or have some beer. The longer path leading down to the town has the 14 stations of the cross.

I used to walk the old path up this hill (mountain). I am much older than my army days. I did this alone, I was not sure I could even find it, but I just headed up hill and it was there. It was raining and cold, I was not dressed for the bad weather I met half way up. This turned out to be my best experience in Europe that year. It was mystical if not spiritual. I visited the church when I reached the top, then warmed myself and refueled at the cafe. I could have taken the car or a taxi, but if you are up for a hike, this is the thing to do.

The title sums it up! We've eaten there a couple of times, and we've never been disappointed. Of course, we recommend going when it's warm outside and you can enjoy the patio dining.

Hier haben schon meine Eltern 1948 den Bund fürs Leben geschlossen - sie Griechin, er Oberpfälzer! Zur damaligen Zeit etwas sehr Besonderes. Darum auch diesen Ort: eben sehr besonders!

Über Amberg auf dem Maria Hilf Berg thront die Wallfahrtskirche. An schönen Tagen am Abend hat man einen wunderschönen Blick über Amberg. Der Knaller ist aber an Silvester wenn die ganzen Raketen über Amberg leuchten.

Паломническая церковь расположена высоко на горе, рекомендую посещать в сухое теплое время года чтобы была возможность подняться пешком, путь очень живописный. И сама церковь великолепна и виды с горы открываются просто восхитительные. Рядом есть небольшой семейный ресторан с открытой площадкой. Рекомендую расположиться именно там и наслаждаться вкусной немецкой кухней, пивом и видом на Амберг. А после можно и такси вызвать- просто обратитесь к официанту.

Церковь Марияхильфкирхе в баварском городе Амберг расположена на горе вдалеке от исторического центра. Если перейти на противоположную сторону от железной дороги, пройти мимо огромной многопрофильной больницы и подняться в гору по крутым тропинкам и лесенкам, которые кажутся бесконечными, вы будете награждены шикарными видами на весь город с его черепичными крышами со смотровой площадки у грандиозной барочной церкви Марияхильфкирхе. Лучше этот подъем совершать в первой половине дня, иначе панораму города будет отсвечивать солнце. Внутри храм – это апофеоз барокко. На алтаре – почитаемое изображение Богоматери с младенцем.

Am Berg hat man eine schöne Aussicht, die nachts besonders ist. Man kann hier über die ganze Stadt sehen. Die Kirche ist ebenso sehenswert un der angrenzende Wald lädt zum spazieren gehen ein. Im Juni ist das traditionelle Bergfest.

Als geborener Amberger habe ich natürlich eine besondere Beziehung zum "Berg" in Amberg. Das liegt aber nicht nur an der wunderschönen Kirche, deren Innenraum mich immer wieder fasziniert (mit dem mechanischen Jesuskind, das ich schon vor 50 Jahren unbedingt bei jedem Besuch anschauen musste). Es gibt dort auch Ende Juni ein Bergfest, das wegen dem Bier und den Bratwürsten sehr empfehlenswert ist.Und nicht zu vergessen: die tolle Aussicht über Amberg und die Bergwirtschaft mit Terrasse und gutem Essen.

Schon wenn man auf Amberg zufährt, sieht man die Wallfahrtskirche Maria Hilf. Ist man erst einmal oben auf dem Berg angelangt, kann man ihre Größe richtig bewundern.Außerdem hat man von dort einen herrlichen Blick über Amberg

kurzer "pilgerweg" mit rast in der bergwirtschaft, toller panoramablick über amberg und umland. für gehfaule oder konditionsschwache: taxi ist sehr preisgünstig!

Wunderschön und sehr ruhig man kann dort schön abschalten und still im Gebet verharren außerden kann man rund um die Kirche sehr schön spazieren gehen

Die Wallfahrtskirche auf dem Mariahilfberg ist schon allein aufgrund der tollen Aussicht über die Stadt Amberg einen Besuch wert. Auch der Innenraum der Kirche ist absolut sehenswert mit den vielen Gemälden und Fresken. Mein Besuch war kurz vor Weihnachten und es war eine tolle Stimmung in der Kirche.
