My 9-years old daughter likes this musical in this castle-style opra very much even she don't know Italian and can understand the story which the handsome actors and the beautiful actresses performed. Must to see in Amalfi.
Much better than we even expected! I'd recommend booking a seat in the middle though - you miss out if you're on either side. Also, don't hesitate to book if you're only an English speaker, the subtitles on screens worked a lot better than expected. The preview video looks cheesy, but it's a really fun experience in real-life.
Wee were so fortunate to be visiting Amalfi, Italy during their Music Festival. the performance of Amalfi Musical in the vaulted ruins transported us. I recommend it highly!!
My husband and I were looking for something to do one night so we booked the Amalfi musical. We booked front row seating, although you could sit anywhere and have a fantastic view. The set up is more like a runway and there are two or three rows for the audience on both sides. They had an aperitif before the show but we arrived 10 minutes prior so there was not any left. The show itself was pretty good. The story line was a little cheesy but the vocals were fantastic. I would recommend this if you have time to kill and are looking for something low key to do for a night out.
Didn't know what to expect ..will not spoil it for future travellers , but let's just say the seating arrangements are 'interesting' Enjoyed the musical , great vocals , even if the story is a little depressing !!!
We had berthed our boat in Amalfi for a few days whilst we hired a car to explore the area. Whilst in the town of Amalfi, which is gorgeous, we bumped into a couple we knew and they said they were going to the Amalfi Musical the following evening. We decided to go too and were not disappointed. The atmosphere and the acoustics in the Arsenale museum with its vaulted ceiling were terrific and the singers/actors excellent. As they perform on the same level as the audience in a very intimate space one feels really involved with the whole thing. A thoroughly enjoyable, different 'theatre' experience.
What a great evening out! The show was suspenseful and electrifying. The music and singing were fantastic in the historical arsenal complete with fog!!
I read all the excellent reviews before booking online but was still a little nervous. I needn't have been worried because the show was brilliant. The venue is so unusual and because you sit so close to the action, it's like nothing else I've been to before. There are sub titles so you can keep up with the story. The actors/singers were all excellent. Highly recommend it.
You need to be an opera fan to like the hokey plot, but the actors give it their all, and they truly can sing. They make good use of the long, narrow, intimate space. You'll learn a bit about Amalfi history (more if you tour the Arsenale museum during the day). As mentioned, the translated surtitles leave something to be desired, but they're helpful.Trying to buy tickets over the Web site completely defeated me, but our hotel assured us we'd be able to get tickets when we got to Amalfi, and they were right. Even if you get the last seat in the place, you'll have a fine view.
Wonderful setting with lighting and smoke that provides great atmosphere.Handsome Antonio!! ;) Wonderful voice. All the actors had good singing ability infact. One of our elderly ladies was pulled out into the play!!! This made it great for us. It made her night and ours.
Really great location for a show - amazing atmosphere as soon as you walk into the venue. We had a complimentary welcome drink on arrival before being shown to our seats. The seating is intimate and numbers of seats are kept to a minimum, so you are guaranteed a good view of the show. The seats are sectioned off so that you can see a screen with subtitles in your chosen language. The show was well choreographed and kept us entertained through the whole evening. Worth a visit.
We were not sure what to expect from Amalfi Musical , even after reading the reviews. I must say that we were truly impressed. It was a great experience to end our holiday in Amalfi. Captivating and entertaining. Note about seats: all have excellent views of the show, don't think twice.
The theater is part of the Amalfi Museum. It is a very up close and personal experience. The singing and acting exceeded our expectations. This is a 70 minute one act musical that tells the story of Amalfi during medieval times. Wine and juice were included prior to the performance. The English subtitles were presented on a screen which added to our enjoyment and understanding of the musical. Intimate atmosphere with the theater seating 50 or so max. Definitely loved this musical.
We attended their 150th show last night which they made a celebration of. It was excellent and they are so proud of their achievement as they should be. We would highly recommend this for an evening out.
