This is a rare and worthwhile museum, especially for wealth of Lombard material, from 6th to 8th C AD, a Germanic people which apparently originated in lower Scandanavia, migrated south to Pannonia (modern Hungary), thence to Italy in 6thC AD, take advantage of the better climate (like us!) and the weakly defended territory, where Ostrogoths and Byzantines were worn out fighting each other. There are great displays from excavated Lombard graves. The museum also has some excellent Roman material (the name Fruili comes from Julius Caesar, who wintered his troops there?). And the staff were friendly, accommodating.

We enjoyed the museum. The displays were very interesting. They have reconstructed tombs that were found in a hillside. They have arranged the bones, clothing, metal just as it was found. Surprising what still exists! Other parts of the museum were interesting, also.

.....but not for handicapped, as a beautiful exhibit of recoveries from "necropoli" (cities of the dead) was on the top floor, and the elevator out of function for the next 3 months to come. The bottom floor shows mosaics and other artwork in stone. A collection of modern Finnish photography was a welcome diversification.

This a great, uncrowded local museum that has the best exhibits on the Lombards. The Roman material is haphazardly displayed on the ground floor, but one floor up are new exhibits on Lombard and early Medieval findings from around Cividale. The exhibits are both accessible and detailed, and among the highlights are the remains of a Lombard warrior buried with his horse. All exhibits (lots of jewelry and weaponry) are provided with proper context, so that you always know why what you are looking at is important or what it reveals about Lombard society. For the Lombards, no museum in Italy has a better collection.

Visitando Cividale, consiglio una visita a questo museo ricco di reperti e di storia. Il biglietto permette di visitare i tre ''musei'': quello in argomento, il tempietto dei longobardi ed il monastero.Questo è esteso, ma si visita con attenzione perchè ci rendi curiosi di una parte della nostra storia antica.

Usufruendo delle prime domeniche del mese gratis sono andata a visitare questo museo. Devo dire che non mi aspettavo che fossi cosi ben organizzato sono stata dentro più di ora e merita tutto quello che ho visto e veramente molto bello si sviluppa su due piani e racconta tutta la storia longobarda di Cividale. Merita di essere visitato.

Interessantissima la sezione altomedioevale. La sala delle Tombe è davvero unica. Peccato non si potesse accedere agli scavi archeologici.

Al primo piano di trovano i ritrovamenti di corredi funerari di tombe longobarde,vari e bellissimi,stupendi pezzi di gioielleria,curiosa la sepoltura del cavaliere con il suo cavallo!Peccato che il piano sotterraneo non fosse visitabile per mancanza di personale,ma la visita è consigliatissima!!

immenso per il paese dove si trova....tanta storia.....curato ben tenuto......consiglio a tutti di vederlo

Un museo assolutamente da visitare. Andate direttamente al secondo piano, dove la meravigliosa collezione longobarda è esposta in un allestimento moderno e suggestivo, con i corredi funebri sistemati in teche orizzontali a terra che riproducono le esatte condizioni del ritrovamento. Molto interessante e fruibile anche per bambini e ragazzi. Chiude alle 19, più tardi quindi del Tempietto longobardo e del Museo cristiano, le altre due attrazioni visitabili con biglietto cumulativo assai conveniente (9 € a prezzo pieno)

il museo è ricchissimo di reperti longobardi allestiti in modo eccezionale sia nelle teche che nel salone centrale. il biglietto integrato permette con una spesa modica di vedere molti tesori.

Museo molto interessante soprattutto per la quantità di reperti di epoca longobarda . Ho trovato molto intrressante l'allestimento sia per quanto riguarda la grande sala con le tombe longobarde sia per le antre sale con le teche tematiche. Assolutamente da vedere.

quello che trovate qui non lo trovate da altre parti. il museo è ricco e ben tenuto.. andateci!!!!!!!!

Se siete a Cividale non potete mancare di visitare questo museo, sopratutto per i reperti di epoca romana ma ancor più per quelli longobardi, Ci sono delle fibule e delle croci che sono proprio belli. Si capisce quindi come abbia potuto essere la prima capitale dei longobardi in Italia.

Могу дать 2 совета: 1)хоть что-то прочитать о лангобардах, 2)посмотреть в интернете FVG-card (почти все музеи региона сможете бесплатно).Музей достаточно большой - все-таки Чивидале был столицей лангобардов, вокруг городка до сих пор ведутся раскопки -прямо на виноградниках! Один из залов как раз этому и посвящен, очень интересно!Много ювелирных украшений - некоторые и сейчас смотрелись бы отлично, оружие, огромные кресты, забавные каменные фигурки - словом, есть что посмотреть!
