We were hosted at the Castello by the company Pilosio when on a trip to Venice for a Peace Award Ceremony. I therefore have no idea of the prices but you can perhaps find this info in another review. They set up many tables filled with local delicacies and dishes. The variety and freshness of the food was fantastic. The wines were beautiful and the atmosphere relaxed and convivial. We then strolled down into the town which was very quaint. Very good experience, beautiful view from top of the hill.
The view from the top of the castle is worth the effort to get their, step master is not needed after this visit, so is the coffee and ice-cream. The architecture is amazing, the view from each corner is spectacular.
The castle was closed when I visited Udine. A few days earlier, a power cut had occurred. The castle itself is not a very spectacular one. However, the Gothic arcades along the access road to the castle that were commissioned by the Venetian governor Tommasso Lippomano in 1487 are worth the climb to the castle. Some frescoes that decorate the arcades are preserved.
c'e il piu bella vista in vicino di Udine. Il castello pero non e molto meraviglioso, ma bene.Puoi vedere edifici storici incluso il duomo, e anche le montagne.THis is one of the greatest views around Udine. The actual castle building isn't amazing, but it's still nice looking. You can see most of Udine and historical buildings such as the church and the mountains.
Great view. Nice walk up. Great photo opportunities. The surprise for us was the political rally being set up behind the castle. Nothing to be worried about, but it gave us insight into the politics of the region - seeking independence from the rest of Italy.
The view from the top of the castle is worth the effort to get their, step master is not needed after this visit, so is the coffee and ice-cream. The architecture is amazing, the view from each corner is spectacular. After a visit, find the old section of Udine and walk around the cobbled streets.
A 360 view of Udine and excellent artifacts. Nice cafe/restaurant in the place if you need some shelter from the sun at noon.
It's worth the climb for photos of the bell tower down below. While you are up there also pay a visit to the basilica with it's interesting history dating back to the Longobards and beyond.
If in Udine, it's worth taking a leisurely walk up to the castle. There are some nice (albeit not spectacular) views when you get up there. Bear in mind though that if you're in Udine on a Monday, many places are closed, including the Castello.
Sitting on top of a hill overlooking all of Udine, the Castello is an interesting feature of this charming city.
nice walk up to it and stunning views when you got to the top, definitely worth the walk. in the centre of the town you can easily get to it, there's a cafe at the top and some great photo opportunities!!
we arrived on late afternoon and everything was already closed. so we just had a look from outside and to the panorama, that was good.
A lovely place to go either on summer and on winter. The entrance for the garden is free but not the museum inside the castle.A beautiful view of the city from the garden. If the day is particularly clear you can see either the mountains and the sea.If you came with your girlfriend this is a very romatic place to spend an afternoon.
