We decided to take a walk to the waterfall when weather was not favourable for cross-country skiing. It was January and temperature rose to 5 degrees resulting in tons of snow melting and a big flow of water in Mumlava river. So it was noisy and the river was furiously running through the forest (check the photos). Walk from Harrachov was easy and nice, although you have to be careful in winter as some parts of the trail may be icy.
very pretty and a great trip through the forest which has many interesting flora and fauna to see. Fellow hikers are friendly and my daughter was very excited to be able to stand right under the falls which are fairly impressive by European standards.
Nice walk through the woods. Little hilly but doable for seniors too. In the area lots of nice restaurants and cafes. All in near are to the hotel "Sklar" and others..
Mumlava Waterfall itself is approximately twenty minutes by walking from the large parking lot in Harrachov. It is better to don't stop at Mumlava Waterfall and take a hike further alongside the river which will offer many nice views to flowing water and peace of the Krkonose forrests. At the end of the 7 kilemeter (4,3 miles) paved road there is often during summer season open cabin with refreshments and guy who will rent you a scooter and you can take ride back - it is all gradual downhill, just for a nice cool ride.
One of the places that we made a trip when staying in Harrachov.. Very beautiful and interesting place , you really must see
If you like nature and you probably do if you go to visit Harrachov, you should come to see Mumlava waterfalls. It is about 10 minutes walk from the town but it worth the time. Just avoid crowds to enjoy.
While we visiting this amazing town, Harrachov, very calm and quite town ..We've decided to do some sort of hiking, so we passed by this amazing place by incidence, we sat for 15 minutes enjoying the sound of water from the waterfall .. I recommend to bring good camera to take a good shots, and bring empty bottles to fill them up with the running water, where the water as sweet as candy! There is near shop where you can but water and some snacks if you are interested to continue hiking
This is a very nice trip from Harrachov even with small kids. We went there with our 2,5 year old daughter and she made it :-) There is a children playground made from wood in the middle of way. Near the watterfalls is kiosk where you can buy drinks or some snacks.
easy cca 1 km walk, beautiful scenery of waterfalls, excellent hot wine and cakes in small challet next to waterfalls (U lisaka)
We took a walk with girlfriend and our dogs from Harrachov, the place is not very distant, its easily accesible even for little kids or disabled people. You can have drink or little snack in two close pubs and the waterfall itself is pretty much like czech republic. Small but lovely :) Special bonus for us was this crazy guy who was having a bath in the stream. On New Years Eve... Yes.
This place is a beatiful to see. We came here in one autumn day and realy enjoy it. We came from Harrachov - walked. Even we were with a small baby and pram, we could reach the place. Just come, see and relax.

An interesting nature point of visit in Harrachov. It is about 40 minutes of slow walking from Harrachov on gravel and wide path. The path run mostly uphill. But it is easy to get it. Near the waterfall there is a mountain cottage with simple food and drinks. The car you can leave on small parking close to the beginning of path to Mumlava waterfall.
