Great medevil historical castle in the centre of town. Wonderful view to the city from central tower.

In the centre of town which has grown up around it. We didn't pay to go inside the central building church as weather was too nice but nice place for a wander and children would enjoy running around (also a good playground).

Nice place where to walk around. Quite gloomy cellars and the While Lady's song made me to put the title "creepy". But it is in positive sense. Alchemy room is interesting for schoolchildren.

For adu!ts and children alike, this is well worth a visit. Some decent amounts of walls, turrets, etc still remain, certainly enough to get a good idea of the castle in former times, and it is in nice green and leafy grounds. The main part, housing the museum and the Dome Church, is well restored and has great tunnels to explore and a bell tower to clamber up to get some good views. It has some interesting stories to tell and history to reveal as well as a surprisingly good and unusual cache of old weapons. Lovely grounds for kids to run around in, toilets and a small coffee shop. Only €4 for adults, certainly worth the money.

Very nice castle. Love specially children playground and possibility climb to the tower. Going to check museum tomorrow.

I am biased when it comes to castle – I love them. This is one of the better Estonian castles. This is a well maintained castle with most walls in place; located adjacent to the town center.

A well preserved castle with a lot to see. For many years it used to be the sportsground of the town. It now facilitates and open air theatre.

Loved the old wooden houses.Even stayed in one!The castle was fabulous. Good cycling opportunities around the city. Lots of food stores and restaurants.

Free admission to a very atmospheric castle with a great children's adventure playground. Lots to explore and space to run around.

An attractive medieval castle with well-organized exhibition. Under construction, will be even more authentic soon.

We went here when there were not a lot of people so. Got some great pictures and views that were not obstructed. We found the museum to be very interesting. We also lucked out to be there at a time that there was music being performed in the church before a service. It was so beautiful and we decided to stay for the church service as well. This entire park area is well worth a visit and has lots to explore. Don't miss the story of the "white lady" in the church!

Путешествовали в 2009 по прибалтийским замкам и не могли не заехать в Хаапсалу. По сравнению с Раквкре всё более мрачно, но погулять по сарым стенам приятно.

городище представляет собой замок и постройки внутри крепостной стены. Для достойного осмотра нужно заложить не менее полудня.

на территории Эстонии сохранилось много замков, и этот - один из самых старых. В основном, представляет собой развалины, зато из него открывается замечательный вид на окрестности. Для детей и взрослых - средневековые развлечения (стрельба из лука, мешки)
