You can walk in the cobblestone streets with old private houses around you. There is a hostel in the outskirts and also an antique shop at Snus-Majas tomt, where you can get a cup of coffee too.

It is very calm in winter with all the snow covering the rooftops, giving you the postcard views of Swedish Christmas. Liked it very much.

Cute, so pretty for evening walk. Yellow, red wooden houses with lamps or candle lights in the window. Swedish people dont cover their windows so you see inside those doll houses. Ot is silent and relaxing to see those narrow old streets alive with old fashion street lights and people behing the glass. Like a theater set in historical town in Scandinavia. Like it a lot. Too bad that because of fire it is not a big place.xo

Nice and quite city, there nothing much to see.A small city, with a beautifull side walks. No much activities around since shops are closed at 10 except on Sunday nights where Bars are open till late night.

Was part of a short stop at Gavle, but enjoyed the morning summer walk though out the old town.Looks everything tidy, and taking good care all over. I dont know if it was cleanning day, but saw an 'army' of cleanears, gardeners, swepers, etc. Arhitecture is in harmony, all buidings renovated (some still under process of renovating) and made enchanting for eyes to see.

I walked through the old Town of Gavle for two hours this summer. The house owners have really done their best to make their houses look as nice as possible. One of the streets had even won a price for being outstanding. I loved it.

This is a wonderful area to stroll around. Love the cobble stone streets and the buildings. Not full of the endless tourist souvenir shops.

This part of Gavle adds to the attraction of the town and it is a must to see place. The architect of the old town is an example of the old Gavle before the fire

A picturesque little town with no apparent daily function but is nestle close to the heart of the city and is a pleasant walk and quiet visit to this historic part of a serene town.

It is a lovely place to walk around, rest on a bench and/or have a lunch there. Very cosy, not too big, not too many people. There is a very good restaurant in the middle with a big terrace and it is really beautiful to sit there on a sunny day! Recommended!

A collection of old houses spared from a town wide fire. Nice enough to walk through, which you would be able to do in a few minutes.

Titta även in på Johnny Mattssongården.
