We really didn't expect to this church to open up and be the size it is as we walked through the doors from the street. St Petri has a beautiful altar. We lit candles in remembrance of some of our family and took time to wander around the church. I love churches and would encourage anyone to pay St Petri a visit.

While this church was not the prettiest (subjectively) among the many churches I saw in Copenhagen and Malmo, it may have been the oldest, which makes it worth a visit to me. The interior is so bright and crisp compared to the dark, gothic exterior. The interior is less opulent which makes sense given the historical context, but is just not as eye-catching as others I visited. Regardless, it's free and they even have free coffee/tea for visitors, which I have not seen at a church before.

Visited this attraction while roaming around Malmo without any real destination. The inside was worth the visit and worth spending a few moments in. However, there is nothing really impressive or striking about the exterior. Just off Stortorget makes the church easily accessible.

This is a lovely church of contrasts. Stark white walls and gothic ceiling, with a baroque altar. The side chapels and memorial stones are also interesting.

This historical building kind of sneak up on you in the middle of random streets. It's a very pretty Scandinavian church however!

Malmoemommy

This church tells you a lot about the city's history, plenty of free concerts and it's one of the few churches that is actually open most of the day. Check out the lovely stone carvings around the church, if you pay attention you'll even find a symbol that you usually don't expect in a church.

That is a huge church! i remember i really had difficulty when making the photo, in the matter of the fact I didn't succeed in capturing the entire view of it because the buildings around it are very close to the church. Anyway if you are in the gamla stan it's worth the visit.

I ended up here due to a wrong turn but it was worth it. The church itself is nothing special (remodeled with white paint all over). However, there is a section with the old fracks that is quite beautiful. That alone makes it worth your time.

I don't think I've ever been to a church this old. You cannot miss this piece of history if you come to Malmo. It's fairly small too, so you won't have to trek through a huge building. It was pretty much empty when I visited and it seems to be that way quite often. This is great, however, as it gives a feeling of tranquility. There is a lot to look at here, so you will not be disappointed.

Visited in the middle of a workday, it was pretty much deserted. It gave off a very calming vibe; didnt impose itself, didnt overwhelm -- a serene little place of worship, a beautiful silent chapel. Not belonging to a faith, one sometimes feels out of place in a church. This wasnt the case for me with St Petri.
