A city of winter Olympics has the most attractive and beautiful panoramic view with or without snow- you hardly have it without snow though.

The summit can be easily reached by cable car from the Rhaetian Railway train station in Bernina valley. There is a hotel on the top, and a restaurant with panoramic terrace. Not just a mountain hut but really good fresh local cuisine.

This is Switzerland! Fantastic panoramic views. Interesting chapel dedicated to mountain climbers/guides. Weather was mixed clouds but not too bad.

With our free travel card issued by our Pontresina hotel, we caught the train to Bernina Diavelozza and then one of the regular cable cars to Diavelozza. Having visited Morteratsch glacier the day before, we could see the other side of that where it meets with Diavelozza. Beautiful sunny day and small amounts of snow with just a couple of slopes groomed. Well worth the trip with stunning views all round.

We took two trains from St. Moritz to Bernina. Using our rail discount we took the tram up to Diavolezza. We got out at a facility that served beer and maybe food. Dominating the scene were mountaintops and a very big glacier and snow. We stayed up and enjoyed the view for three hours then rode the tram down to the bottom. In the bottom facility there was one large co-ed rest room.

The only place to have snow in the summers. Easy to access. Just take the train and then the Gondola up. Even at nearly 10,000 ft you dont feel much since it is so rustic and untouched. The snow was a short walk away in the Summer and would be great in the Winter.

The clouds mask the view that you get until you get to the top! Sat outside and had a light lunch and cappuccinos overlooking the stunning glacier!

Whenever you are in the Eastern part of Switzerland or in the Engadin valley, make sure you spoil yourself by going up to the top of Diavolezza. A huge gondola brings you to this viewing point to enjoy the wonderful Swiss mountains.

Take a ride to the top of this mountain and see the spectacular views of the Glacier ahead! There is so much to do in Switzerland but this is a must see!

A bit foggy when we arrived but cleared up quickly. The views were amazing. We had lunch at the top of the lift. A bit pricey (9.50 cf for soup and 1850cf for spaghetti Bol ) but good and tasty.Note: the restaurant does not open during the summer also the bernina express train does not stop at this stop only the local or regional train

While staying in Livigno we can recommend a trip to Diavolezza Already own way through the saddle Forcola and Bernina are an experience for all lovers of the Alps. We stop at the parking lot of the magic railway station Bernina Diavolezza and among the first drove up. Already at the bottom station of the Diavolezza cableway warned that the ferrata Trovat is closed. The Bernina – Diavolezza aerial tramway reaches the 2,973 m high Diavolezza in ca. 7 minutes. During the trip, enjoy a breathtaking view overlooking the two Morteratsch and Pers glaciers and the lofty Bernina Range with the Piz Palü, the Piz Bernina, and the famous Bianco Grat peaks.At the top was a lot of fresh snow and there were very few people. Spectacular view from Diavolezza with panoramic map in front of the terrace to identify each single precious top. We decided to take the Munt Pers. The trail begins right next to the restaurant's terrace. The trail was covered with snow. We started to climb the beaten path in the snow. The path led along a rocky ridge, traverses the rubble and ended with a final zigzag climb to the top. This offered a tremendous view northwest into the Bernina valley with Pontresina on its eastern side and the Bernina group with its famous Bianco ridge, the Piz Palü, Piz Bellavista and the Piz Morteratsch. In the right summer is obviously a nice hike, but in the snow it was slower. The path was at times quite exposed and covered with snow. Some of the terrain was a bit steep and requires a certain amount of surefootedness. Walking sticks were advisable. There are no refreshments at the summit so we recommend taking a drink with you. The return route followed the outward path. After returning to the starting point we visited Berghaus Diavolezza . The cottage was already crowded, dominated the Japanese. Shop - nothing interesting for us, lunch at the Bellavista panorama restaurant - several groups of tourists, long waiting for food. Our selection of local specialties - Piz Palü Rösti and veal sausage - was not the best. Price:rather expensive considering the attractiveness of the location. After lunch we went to the Sass Queder. From the Diavolezza summit station, the trail first leads along the ski piste for a few metres, past the Piz Trovat with its summer via ferrata, and up to the top station of the glacier chairlift Diavolezzafirn. before traversing the Sass Queder ridge (turn leads down to the Lej da Diavolezza). After 40-minutes climb, piles of stacked-up stones herald our arrival at the summit. . The 360 view from the top of Sass Queder are phenomenal, even more than the climb took us breath away. During the descent to the gondola, we observed two groups of hikers descending from mountain glacier (The guided glacier hike).The Diavolezza offers unforgettable views of the Bernina massif,glaciers walks,as well as adventurous hikes,fixed-cable climbs, challenging climbs of Piz Palü, Piz Bernina and Bianco Grat.If somebody prefer just to relax on the high altitude, then can soak up the view from outdoor Jacuzzi or visit Europe’s highest-lying barbecue site on Sass Queder.In nice weather, we recommend visiting Diavolezza also for families with children or seniors

Great trip by boat, cog railway and gondola to the top of the world. When you arrive you are greeted by some fabulous views and hikes on the mountain. Wonderful highlight of our trip to Switzerland.

Mountains, nature - it´s so beautiful - like a dream. We had only two days. But we go there for a holidays.

This is so amazing! I was not keen to go at first - have taken cable car to go to peaks such as Whistler where the view in summer I found not that spectacular. I am glad my husband persuaded to go as it was absolutely amazing. The kids were so excited, built a snowman and had snowball fight. We took some amazing photos, white snow against cloudless blue sky. The restaurant has a nice view of the mountain and we had lunch there. The food was quite good and we just took our time to enjoy the view. I would suggest for families with kids too young to hike around the peak, take the cable car up at around 9:30, take the time to enjoy the view and shoot some amazing photos, then have an early lunch. The sun was actually very strong, without you feeling it, so it is better to go in the morning. Even having applied sunscreen, my younger daughter still got a little sunburn on her face. So a hat and good sunglasses are necessary.

Words cannot describe the view of these beautiful peaks. The cable car ride was smooth and we were happy they ran every 30 minutes. We enjoyed lunch at the restaurant. The food was good. I saw hikers in the area and would love to have done that.However, I wasn't prepared for the altitude. Hiking is not something to do if new to the altitude and only have 1 day. But I am very happy we traveled to Diavolezza!I was given excellent advice on travel to the area from Varenna, Italy, from contributer Engadiner. Anyone traveling to the area should follow his/her advice.
