Corvatsch has northen slopes and the snow is fantastic duriog warm weather. The site has become large with conectons o various areas. One big problem - many (mpst) is T-bars. even 2 buttons and old slow 2 per. chail lift
Took a thrilling helicopter ride from St.Moritz over snow covered mountains to Mount Corvatsch. The 360 degree view from the top of Corvatsch is breath-taking, and you need to gasp for breath in amazement - and also due to the altitude (3,303 metres)! The restaurant welcomes you with cold cuts and aperitifs and the warmth of the dining area was most needed as it was minus 17 outside, though sunny and crisp and clear weather. Friendly and helpful restaurant staff, good lunch and two funicular rides down to St.Moritz. A must visit in good weather. Spectacular scenery with snow covered mountains as far as the eye can be seen, brave skiers of all ages gliding down powdery slopes - just as you would imagine Switzerland in winter!
It takes two cabin rides to reach the top of this mountain. It is the North facing mountain option in Engadine valley, so the snow conditions are better, but the weather is worse. Facilities shut down when it is too windy. No great challenges for experts that I was led into by our level 6 guide/instructor...
This morning we went to Muottas Muragl 1st, the view was ok as over looking Engadine valley with Celerina & St. Moritz in view. We only stayed for less than half of hour as we got bored with only 180 degrees view. So we took another bus and up to top of Corvatsch, it has 360 degrees view and bit more interesting.
The highest point on the Bernina range separating Engadina from Val Roseg, and the highest mountain station of the Eastern Alps. Fantastic views from 10000 feet of the snowy peaks and the beautiful lakes. Hiking and shooting opportunities are absolutely superb.
The weather must be near perfect to truly appreciate the fantastic 360 degree view from the viewing platform. I also enjoyed the refreshment and cold platter at the restaurant.
Just amazing: we were there on a sunny summer day and the view was incredible. We had a good meal at the restaurant and enjoyed every single minute. A must if you are there!
the name of the game is to enjoy oneself, at st Moritz its possible to do just that, the weather was inclement but we survived. it rained a bit and then it cleared up. there was forest land, lakes mountains rivers flowers and marigold galore
The beauty is indescribable. I would describe Corvatsch as a blue ski resort with very few options. Its seem to be a weekend get away local family resort. Which is wonderful if you live there and my daughter and I definitely enjoyed. I just expected more.
Excellent snow activities apart from sking is women chasing, sunbathing (not on windy days of course) and enjoying good wine.
Definitely worth the ride! The views are especially beautiful as you look down towards the turquoise lake! It was too foggy at very top to completely enjoy - however, the ride up & back was priceless!
Awesome views and great hot chocolate in the restaurant. It was cold - bring your coat and gloves. Great spot for panoramic photos
I was alone during the visit of the mountain. I was quite lucky that the cable car was about to close two days later. The snow covered the mountain was undistributed. It was like a fantasy land.
Three cable cars to the top and the views from the Summit is a postcard that will stay in your mind forever. There are restaurants and gift shops at every stop along the way and a great way to see the Engadine Valley!
We went to the top this mountain on our last day in the Engagine region. It ended up being the best for last. This peak really feels like you are on top of the world! It takes two cable cars to reach the top, but when you do you are surrounded by glaciers and snow topped peaks. If you are only going to go up one peak in this area, this should be it.
