I visited Nida in July which is a warm month for Lithuania. But water was too cold to take a dip. If you want to enjoy bathing go for Parnu or Jurmala beach.

Located on the east side of the Curonian Spit, by Lithuanian named Neringa, some kilometers north of the Russian enclave Kaliningrad, you’ll find this nice little town and you reach it from Klaipeda by bus, car or bicycle and you need to take the ferry from Klaipeda some hundred meters over the harbour channel to Smiltyne. The town has two beaches, one 1,5 km away, facing the Baltic Sea in the west, with endless sand shores and one in the east near town , facing the Curonian Lagoon. Here you also have the fishermen’s harbour and the yacht harbour. Both sides have its charm and invite you for long promenades with fantastic views and a lot of fresh air. In the summer a lot of people come here to swim and relax in the sandy beaches and during the summer period it also use to be a lot of open air concerts near the harbour in town. Nida is also famous for its big number of vanes which stand along the sea promenade in the town. During off season this is a very calm and relaxing place to visit. Compared with the popular partying seaside resort Palanga 30 km north of Klaipeda, Nida is much more calm. I can strongly recommend a visit to Nida whenever you have a chance.

Top ,restful and what a sand!!!!Love this beach, even when it is full of people: you never feel that you are on top if each other or surrounded too much...!This beach is monitored which is perfect for children!

The beach in Nida is endless and caters for all types. We prefer the nude beaches which are on the right as you look from the sea and are clearly sign posted. One thing to watch is that the sea temperature can vary a lot without any change in the weather!

this is a vey friendly beach with no loud music and booze... it is very different from Palanga beach. If you are looking for a quiet and chill beach with the only noise wil be laughter of children...this is the place for you... the downside is that you need to walk a distance before arriving at the beach. but it is definitely worth the walk.

I've visited the Nida Beach maybe three times over the past ten years and really enjoy it. The facilities are improving every time I visit. The past couple of times we've spent our time at the nude beach because it's much less crowded than the "main" beach for tourists. But, the water is cold! Once you get used to it, though, it's a nice pleasant break from the heat...

Nice beach, clean white sand, kids had a lot of fun in the waves. Note that you might have to wait in the ferry queue for a while during the high season.

The beach is sandy (white sand) and the water is very clean but when we were there there were a lot of bees and insects and they always found us.. The beach is around 2 km from the center. Before the beach there are a lot of restaurant.

Since we have such a short coastline, we have so few beaches in Lithuania.I consider this one to be the best one.

Excellent swimming, with brilliant changing facilities. There are cafes and toilets on the way to the beach.

Walk just 20 minutes from the city center and you can get to the most heavenly place on earth. Sound and the wind from the Baltic see invites you to enjoy, relax and spend great time on the Nidas beach. Tall dunes, clean sandy beach allow you to have the best time. You can walk around or just relax, shearch for the amber or nice shaped stones, to share your experience with loved once.

All my life and still every year we are visiting my favourite place - Nida( July or August is the best weather to go there).Best or must things to do in Nida is :Nida Sand Dunes - spen half of your day in sand dunes(there are wooden steps leading to the top of the dune), walk around, enjoy the whitest sand your eyes can imagine and have relaxing time, take nice pictures with landscape. Nida's Sand Dunes is Lithuanian Sahara. The Curonian Spit is home to the highest moving sand dunes in Europe. Nida Jazz Festival - Since 2001 every year a fantastic Nida Jazz festival named as Nida Jazz Marathon is organized in summer (between 31th of July to 10th of August).Harbour - have a tour with the ship, cater or jought, listen to captain stories and jokes.Endless walking, walk through pine forests to the beach - beaches for woman only or men only and of course mixed ones.Beach is amazing with white soft sand.Have a bike ride around, Nida is perfect place for the bike rides, enjoy the nature with stops.Must have smoked fish in fish smokery and restaurant ''Tik pas Jona'' with the great view of the Curonian lagoon.I can't wait for my holiday in Nida again this august 2014 ! :)

One of the nicest beach what I have ever seen in my life in Europe. Best place to have a holiday with family in Lithuania. Very calm place and it has the atmosphere which will make you relaxed. Very good destination for couples who wants some romantic days together.

The best beach i have ever been in Europe. It was clean, wide and long with very fine and white sand. It was a good summer weather when we went there yet there's not so much people.
