Very well done with signs in English as well. The museum has original buildings and mimics an entire village with church, inn and restaurant. You can see also few tradition in some houses as the wedding, the funeral, the birth ... as they used mannequins to represent the traditions.
The visit was excellent, with signs also in English. We hope the site will expand soon, as a lady from the staff told us.
Bucovina Village Museum is one of the best and beautiful places I've been. This museum recreates the old fashion villages very close to reality. I loved that they added old songs so the atmosphere is almost real. worth the money and time!
If you ever plan to visit Romania, start with Bucovina, a region located in the north of the country. You will be fascinated by the kindness of the people, the amazaing food and landscapes, and also by the multitude and variety of places to visit. Bucovina is full of history, I might say. The best thing is to take a tour of the local monasteries, citadels but also spare 2 hours of your time to visit one of the greatest museums in Romania, called "Muzeul Satului Bucovinean". You will enjoy the archaical way of living, the customs and traditions and the beauty of the simple living in Bucovina.
Each house includes a "story". You can see how the people of Bucovina lived ages ago and see their furniture, clothing etc.
My wife and I visited this wonderful outdoor museum in early October. We spent several hours exploring the traditional Romanian homes. We were lucky enough to also enjoy a concert of traditional bands, singers and dancers in fantastic costumes. This place is great for all ages. Don't miss this place while visiting Bucharest
This outdoor museum offers a great opportunity to experience the traditional way of life in northern Romania for a reasonable admission price (I believe I paid the equivalent of a few dollars). The variety of buildings is good, all well maintained, renovations to a few under way when I visited. A few of the buildings have figures inside to show typical clothing and events, a technique which they could employ more to good effect. About a minute from the museum's entrance is the view to Suceava fortress - undergoing reconstruction at the time of my trip. The walk to the museum from the town square is very pleasant as well - taking you through a submerged park walkway and past an impressive statue of Stefan cel Mare. Depart from the square bordered by Bulevardul Ana Ipătescu for this approach.
