bantock house museum

Visited the museum but as i was early i decided to check out the cafe on site. A small and quite intimate cafe with plenty of variety on offer, everything from Sandwiches to steaks. A nice place to stop and rest after or before touring the museum.

really gives you a chance to look at recent history, we found it interesting and a comfortable place, you would never guess it was so close to the town centre.

This is a lovely little museum providing a nice look at local history from the perspective of one family. The house is well presented and the staff are enthusiastic, helpful and friendly. Nice cafe too!

Nice museum and garden. Great to have such places around. Staff are very helpful and enthusiastic. Also small but nice cafe. Before ordering anything, go and sit at a table where you can see a better selection of their offers.

We went out for lunch on Friday and I can truly say we had a lovely time,food and staff are excellent,the children could go and look round the house for free and the weather was lovely to.So all in all a lovely afternoon out.That didn't cost a the earth and pleased all.

Took our young grandsons here for the first time and they loved it.Plenty of room to run around or ride bikes in the park.Great playground and a golf course.House very child friendly with quiz sheets and lots of things they could actually touch!And it's all free!

This is a local gentleman's house, now owed by the council and definitely worth a visit. There is some good woodwork in the house. The snooker room has information about local men who started factories, breweries and other industrial businesses. There is a good café in the grounds.

Found this a fascinating place. Run by Wolverhampton Council who do not charge for entry. I particularly liked the billiard room where Bantock discussed business with other factory owners. there are books about the other entrepreneurs in the area such as Chubb of locks and Marston who made beer and underneath the billiard tale drawers showing artefacts from each industry.

Spotted an article in my local Cannock Chronicle regarding an event at Bantock House Museum with the theme on Railway from the past in Wolverhampton. Free entry but a donation box is available. Well laid out museum with rooms set out and a book in each room with details all that is on display. Spend some time looking around and after a small café had hot/cold food available. Go on give it a try

Paid my first proper visit to Bantock House to see an exhibition on railways there. This was OK but the house was excellent and the staff/facilitators were great - they knew their stuff but were no working off a script and were not pushy. Will certainly return.

Wonderful place to visit for young and old. History galore, beautiful suroundings, fun things for children and a lovely cafe with yummy food !!

An excellent place we have visited repeatedly with our grandchildren. The house is fun with lots to do.

Cafe excellent! Buildings & grounds an eye opener for the area, so clean & in good order. A pleasant & unexpected uplift to the tired spirit & body!

For anyone who has never visited Bantock House, you are in for a real treat. The first thing is that is FREE which makes a change nowadays and there are so many lovely things to see. There is even a place for children to d a little brass rubbing. It's great.

Dropped in to our local park for a cuppa with the granddaughters.Excellent service in the café, a nice walk and visit to my late parents' memorial bench and then a good long play on the swings, slides etc in the playground (for the Granddaughters - I'm a bit old for that now :))Also a nice walk around part of the park to view the snowdrops.Most relaxing!
