There are horse shows most evenings for just a few euros entrance. The horses are the same breed as the Spanish Riding School on Vienna and the perform many of the same routines including airs above the ground. Not quite the same class as the Spanish Riding School but then I paid 15€ for 2 of us in Cordoba and £150 for 2 of us to see the Spanish Riding School in Wembley. Well worth a visit.

This was a tremendous treat for us and I was so sorry when it ended! It was totally mesmerising, as the horses, riders and flamenco dancers were truly brilliant! Pure excellence for a mere 15 euros!Do not miss it!Can't wait to go again!

Stables & Andalusian Horses date from 1570; still actively housing & a 'showcase' for these wonderful horses and their riders. Colorful equestrian shows several nights weekly for 15 Euros (check schedule... times vary). NOTE: free entry to view stables/horses daily; we lucked upon an intensive training session of horses and riders... a highlight of our Cordoba visit!

Even if you can't make the show that these horses put on, walk down to the royal stables and see what is going on inside. We saw several of the horse and carriages come in.

Loved the show! The setting sun added a nice touch to the scene. Horses were beautiful and seemed to love the attention. Too bad the commentary was in Spainish only.

I enjoyed the visit, all the horses are so well trained and prepared its nice to see something different, I have to say I´m not a big horse fan but I find the show exciting, its a nice place to visit during your stay in Cordoba! I will only recommend the staff to have the seats clean up before every show.

I was a bit underwhelmed at the show which featured a lot of "fluff" and not a lot of actual horse dancing. The act that absolutely saved the show and made the entire evening worth it was the single trainer with the four white horses. This was sensual and beautiful and fantastic and all kinds of other superlatives. Gorgeous! But the rest of the show was so-so.

It's free to wander in and see the spectacular stables and the riding area. The stables show the high cost/standard that was expected when these were built. The collection of carriages and carts through the ages in each of the stalls is also nice as you can get right up and touch each of them and look inside to see how tiny they are. All free to look around so why not on a walk of the city.

We visited the Equestrian Show last Sunday evening, 21 September, the weather had been overcast for much of the day and rain had been forecast for the evening. However, we were prepared to sit outside and watch this wonderful show, so we arrived early and queued at the entrance. The ticket inspector was not at all friendly and shouted at us when we tried to enter, we understood from his gesticulating that we had to queue and wait for him to decide to let us in. Eventually, after the earlier performance audience left we were guided to the barn as the show was to be held inside. We were told to file in and sit at the back filling up the seats as we went along, people who arrived later than us managed to sit in front and had better seats. Be warned, do NOT sit along the back wall of the barn as there are pigeons that decided to drop their faeces on whoever sits underneath, not a pleasant experience. The show was lovely which was a shame that it was an ordeal to have to put up with being pooped on. After the show we complained to the ticket girls, who were very unsympathetic and extremely rude about our plight. Trousers are totally ruined, stain will not come out, so make a big protest and refuse to sit there, wish I had.

The stables were interesting with some lovely architecture. There were a few antique carriages but not that spectacular. I was looking forward to the Horse display but was a bit disappointed. Some bits, such as the carriage driving, were spectacular. From a horsey persons, point of view, I thought the dressage was average. Given the heat of august I expected an indoor arena. I still enjoyed it and I suppose to the uninitiated it would be great.

Having always wanted to watch 'dancing horses', what better setting to see a show than in Cordoba at the royal stables. We bought our tickets on the gate just after 9pm after checking online before our holiday and finding that they weren't in demand. Having said that there were plenty of other people with the same idea but the seating area was only half full when the show began at 9.30pm. In the height of August the heat was pretty unbearable even as the night fell and it was an uncomfortable 75 minutes sat on hard plastic seating. However, the show was incredible and both myself and my husband (who know very little about horse riding) thoroughly enjoyed watching the variety of dressage, leaping, dancing with women on foot and chariot pulling. I'm sure they are not the correct terms but we appreciated the level of skill and horsemanship that was demonstrated just take a handheld fan and a cushion!

Both our hotel and many Tripadvisor reviews encouraged a visit here, so we decided to go. Unfortunately, we were underwhelmed. The show was only about an hour and at 15 euros a person I do not feel it was a great value. The explanations for the show were all in Spanish and on a poor sound system, which was not very friendly to the audience given that it is a tourist geared show. I have ridden horses and been to equestrian shows, and was disappointed with the skill level. There were no jumps or complex tricks aside from horses "dancing" (walking on a diagonal) which was relied upon too heavily throughout the show. Trotting in circles and some turns rounded out the rest of the show. The best parts were seeing the flamenco dancer perform beside a horse and when several horses stood up together on their hind legs but that was not enough to save the show. The location was a nice historic outdoor space, though in the heat of August it is not very comfortable to sit outside for an hour. Perhaps the show might be entertaining for young children but I would not recommend it otherwise. A flamenco show (I have reviewed the one we attended which is new and fantastic) is a better evening activity option.

The horses are pretty and some of the tricks are impressive, but there really isn't enough material for the full hour and a lot the show is random trotting in circles or repeats of previously seen tricks (e.g. the horses trotting in diagonal gets repeated more than enough times to stop being impressive). The introductions in Spanish aren't too helpful if you don't speak Spanish and do give you the impression you're missing part of the already insufficient content. My girlfriend who knows more about horses than I was not impressed by the skill level.Felt my time and €15 * 2 would have been better spent elsewhere.

We visited during the Patio Festival, and saw the horses being exercised. The old Royal stables are fascinating and there are many old carriages to view.

The Caballerizas Reales de Cordoba (Royal Stables) are easy to find as they are on the same street as The Alcazar. The stables are free to visit & definitely worth a viewing (check times on the website www.cordobaecuestre.com). There is a performance on Wed, Fri & Sat at 21:00 or Sunday 12:00 (check website for entry fee), however, due to train times we didn't get to see it although I did purchase the DVD (10 euros).
