I had to sit and admire this building during the day and then in the evening when it was lit up. Inside was beautiful but they only had Spanish Audio tours which was a pity for me, I am not complaining because I was in Spain, it just would have been nice to hear more about the building,

An impressive cathedral in the very center of the city. While walking through the narrow streets in the old town, you all of the sudden arrive to a big beautiful square with the huge cathedral in the middle. It has unique architecture and all the building around it are antique with colored flowers in the balconies. Totally recommend to visit and have a beer in one of the many terraces around it.

what a sight, archetectually stunning both outside and in. well worth a visit. quite a lovely setting, within a few minutes walk from good parking

The museum staff where very friendly and although unable to speak English they were very helpful and determined that we should enjoy are vist.

What a fabulous, Atmospheric place and only me and 2 others in it the whole time. Hidden gem in a busy city, great history !!!

There's not a heck of a lot to attract a visitor to Jaen and that is shame because this building is worth a day's trip of anyone's time. Jaen is a poor region of Andalucia and that means very poor. My wife and I visited the capital following a couple of days in Baeza and Ubeda. We arrived on a Sunday, looked around for a while and stayed for the duration of the service. The magnificence of the cathedral makes one consider what Jaen must have once been. I was moved by the experience and it was interesting to see that it is still used as a place of worship by the locals. I have been to several famous cathedrals that seem devoid of any spiritual feeling but this is not the case at Jaen. It's one of Spain's great cathedrals. Don't miss it.

We made a half-day trip to Jaen from Granada to see the cathedral. This magnificent building dominates the city. It was well worth a trip! Amazing architecture. We've visited on Sun and were lucky to enter just before the mass. There was no admission fee on that day, but no audio guides as well. When in Jaen, do make sure to walk up the top of the city (5-10 min from the cathedral) as the views from above are stunning, too.

lovely place to visit but the city could do with a clean up lots of graffiti needs to be a lot like cordoba to get more visitors

A very good attraction in the centre of the city. It is easy to get to from the carpark on the plaza.It is worth a visit but there are a lot of stairs.There is a fair amount of graffiti in the surrounding area which a shame.

If cathedrals are your thing this one is a must. If not you still need to see it from the outside - it's difficult not to be impressed by its sheer size. Inside is an over the top array of artefacts dating back centuries.

When in Jaen, visiting the 16th century Cathedral is an absolute must. It is situated in the city centre and can best be reached after a short walk through the many (shopping) streets.

Wonderful visit. Be aware there are an awful lot of steps to go up to the bell tower, but worth it and there are benches on each level of stairs which is a great help. The vault held an amazing array o gold, silver and brass dated back to 12th century. The cloth that Veronica wiped Christ's face with is on display here (according to legend this is the cloth!). Well worth a visit,

Very impressive from the outside and even more so inside. Brilliant value at only 5 euros for entry which includes an audio handset (available in English) which I would highly recommend. There are 22 audio points and the information given on each one is interesting & informative without being too long. A really enjoyable visit and a 'must see' if you are in Jaén.

if you take a guide you could easily spend 3 hours in there - lots of interesting facts and unusual stories. not just another cathedral

The cathedral is a very impressive building that dominates the city of Jaen. It is well worth to take a walk aroud the building and feel its greatness. Inside that greatness continues. It' breathtaking interior is a special experience.
