Decatur's Square has something for everyone. There are bookstores, restuarants, boutiques, antique shops, and pubs. It's a lively place especially in the spring and summer, Most of the restuarants have patios for people watching and enjoying the Georgia sunshine. In the spring there are festivals and concerts usually free and open to the public The Marta train station is right below the square as well.. Families, couples and those going solo can look forward to a good time on the square in Decatur.
I visited while "wasting time" until next agenda item in Atlanta. It's a great place filled with coffee, deserts, pubs, and restaurants. You can find something to eat or drink here easy. Tons of specials during the weekdays. Esoteric boutiques also make for great time wasters. Enjoy
The square of Decatur is a great area. It has top notch restaurants to fit every wallet and palate. It also has wonderful shops and galleries. I never tire of it. It's a wonderful little hub.
Full of shops, restaurants and bars, this is a great place to take friends or family and explore just outside of Atlanta. With a little something for everyone, you will enjoy your time here and find many different options for entertainment. So many great restaurants and coffee shops exist in this area so make sure to come thirsty and/or hungry.
We were out and about so nipped in to get a brew. Good variety of beers and well presented in special glasses, plenty of seating. Service was a little slow (but we were there during the afternoon, so not may staff on.
Downtown Decatur has a little something for everyone, seasonal activities and events, quaint stroll, shopping, and an endless selection of wonderful eateries!
The square in downtown Decatur is exactly what you would expect in a Georgia town. Most people that you pass are friendly. Sometimes, you have to stop & wait for the people in front of you to finish their conversations with someone they just met in passing. The shops and restaurants are all unique.
Fun, food, and actvities await you in the Decatur Square. Find new places to explore. I'm Sure you'll enjoy yourself.
What are you looking to eat? Likely you will find it on Decatur Square! This place has such a great vibe that I sometimes just enjoy going down there to walk around. People are so friendly and weather you want a full meal or a quick snack there are plenty of options. The surrounding streets are also filled with little shops and restaurants. Go and spend some time- you won't be disappointed!
I went to the Decatur Book Festival on Saturday. Sure it was sunny and hot but there were lots of trees providing SHADE. It is fun for everyone. Volunteers handed out coupons for free kids books. There were food vendors and restaurants open to all. I saw Pat Conroy signing books for fans. I absolutely loved the ATL van featuring photos of the Atlanta area. Unfortunately I missed the 5 pm show when writers shared their stories based on pictures from the van. I was told the BBC did a story on it. As I was leaving I met Michelle Nunn Democratic candidate for US Senate.
We enjoy visiting the square when we're in town visiting family. Excellent shops, restaurants, coffee shoppes, ice cream and candy stores, and free parking. Delightful.
A nice square, old fashioned in a way. Plenty of restaurants, shops and some good people watching. The public transit [MARTA] stops right at the square. Good way to kill an afternoon.
Like most places in Atlanta, this area is under renovation, so even though there are lots of neat shops, bars, and restaurants, it feels kind of like a war zone. Eventually, it's going to be really fun to hang out there, but not yet.
We were really surprised and impressed by Decatur's Square. We weren't sure what we were coming up on, but all the shops looked fun and there was a plethora of delicious smelling food. It was very lively and busy, and we saw a few police officers patrolling the area who seemed friendly with the locals. Overall we wished we'd known how great this was so we could have come to dinner earlier and spent some time wandering in and out of the shops before our reservation!
The Square has multiple great restaurants, shops, bars within walking distance. Generally there are festivals there on the weekends.
