walking from the hotel for 1 hour after a day of driving. Nice place for a visit. Verry still around this time off the year. Great view on the very low level lake.

This quiet park is an excellent place for a walk. It provides a peaceful atmosphere with well maintained paths. The main trail has a few gentle inclines, but there are plenty of benches if you need to relax. We visited in the summer but plan on coming back one year in the spring when the azaleas and laurel are in bloom.

I took my mom and dad here during a light rain. It was so peaceful and beautiful even in the rain. The paths wind and curve on a loop trail back to the parking lot. The park overlook a lake where you can picnic or fish. This is a super place to take a date this will make a great first impression.

These gardens are breathtaking especially during the festival. I have some awesome pictures of the azaleas and rhododendrons. Certainly worth the effort. Its an easy, casual stroll with Lake Chatuge in the background.

Go in the spring to see the rhododendrons, 20' tall and full of blooms. Hamilton Gardens is on the side of a mountain sloping down to Lake Chatuge! What a setting!

Beautiful Azalea and Rhododendron gardens are on the lake adjacent to the North Georgia Mountain Fairground. Only about two hours from Atlanta. Short side trip from Highlands, Clayton, Lake Burton and Brasstown Bald. We were there before Mother's Day weekend and the rhododendrons were just beginning to bloom. Worth the visit.

A beautiful and rare collection of Rhododendrums!I visited this Garden many years ago when I first discovered the No. Ga Mtns. Now, I lived in the area and I,not only, visit but have the honor to help care for it as a volunteer.I am always truly amazed by it's beauty!

We live in Hiawassee and are blessed to have these beautiful gardens that we can visit at any time for a beautiful, casual walk with friends.

After touring the trails, seeing the amazing rows of hybrid rhododendrons and azaleas, I learned that it was totally "manned" by volunteers!! How incredible! THEN I learned that it is only maintained by donations AND that the county does not even appreciate what they have in their hands for tourism - at least not in the way of supporting it with any financial contribution! Trust me, it was well worth my donation and those who were with me...and yours, too!!I traveled about an hour to get there and was absolutely enthralled by the beauty I saw as a reward of volunteers who work and maintain the over 30 acres! The trails are easily graded for walking and for physically challenged, you get to ride in a "buggy" (golf cart) at half-hour intervals.I plan to go back for the free sessions on creating containers on Saturdays at 11am and again in time for the Fall Festival! Amazing!! Koodos to all!!

A beautiful stop and it's free! The rhododendrons and azaleas are magnificent and the trails are easy for all ages. You can picnic under cover or by the lake. The garden shop has some great deals and the staff is very helpful and enthusiastic. Say hello to Catherine who runs the garden shop and is a #1 volunteer. They also have RV sites for volunteers.

We toured the garden, and it definitely seems like the place to be when the Rhododendron are in bloom. The garden was a little overgrown when we visited, but it is a nice walk, and offers pretty views of Lake Chatuge.

This would be an excellent place to stop during the rhododendron are in bloom but nothing to see when not in bloom.

Beautiful year round but spring is the best! Gorgeous colors on well kept walkways for you to enjoy with a leisure stroll.

I have been here several times over the years. It is a nice "garden" on the side of a hill overlooking Lake Chatuge in Hiawassee and adjacent to the Ga. Mtn Fairgrounds. path winds down through the many plantings and then back across and up to the parking area. There are restrooms on site and a small garden shop that sells a limited variety of plants to help support the garden. There was a small craft fair the day I was there. Nice folks! If you like rhodies and can catch them in bloom, it is very nice. They bloomed early this year, though there were still a number in bloom when I went.

You can definitely get a cup of tea and sit for hours on one of the benches enjoying the sound of water from the lake hitting at the shore
