The bridge itself is very picturesque, unfortunately it is marred by graffiti and some concrete poles that you will have to edit out of your photos. It is worth the short drive if you are in the Helen area.
A cute small covered bridge that is right by the highway offers parking, picnicking and fishing in a clear mountain stream. We once were able to rent the house on the opposite side of the road. small waterfall and photo opportunities.
This is a beautiful covered bridge with LOTS of history, just like the whole area. The inside is pretty cool; with a multitude of graffiti all over and if you're into the supernatural, well, you may find what you're looking for!Beautiful spot for pictures or just relax by the waters edge.
If you are a "glass half empty" kind of person, do not visit this spot! Our family stopped here for a picnic and we enjoyed this little bridge and the surrounding area.
Experience history and show the kids what life used to be like. It's a great opportunity to show a hands on bit of history that people usually only see in history books or paintings. It is wonderful that this is being preserved.
Nothing fantastic, they have some picnic benches. We stopped, snapped a few photos, and left. The drive out there is very scenic though and I think it's worth driving out to see while you're in Helen, if for no other reason than to see the surrounding area. The graffiti was disappointing as other reviews have mentioned; if they cleaned it up it might be pretty nice.
Nothing to really see and do here except to see the covered bridge. It is no longer in use and there is a small sign that tells just a tad about the bridge. There is quite a bit of history about this bridge that I happen to read in a local paper.
I love covered bridges so this was a fun fund for me. It is a shame that the surrounding grounds have not been cared for too much and that the bridge itself is covered with graffiti. Drive slowly because you will miss it!
The bridge has graffiti all over it. It has been repaired with new boards that have graffiti on it as well. It is so disappointing for something of historical meaning to be defaced. If you are into covered bridges for history & happen to go to Anna Ruby Falls, you might want to take a short stop here otherwise it is not worth going for a special trip to see.
The bridge is very short and not much to see but I love old mills and covered bridges so I enjoyed seeing it.
It just doesnt have the same historic feel that it would if it wasnt covered in grafitti. Plus, it was rebuilt so again, takes away from the old authenticity. Still a worthwhile stop on the way thru.
Well, if you're not paying attention, you'll miss it! There isn't a big sign to say - turn off here! It is something to check out, doesn't take much time and is free.
We visited this bridge because it's on the tourism to-do list for Helen GA and I felt compelled. The stream is lovely and the historic plaque marker adds value to the visit but the bridge itself was uninspiring. The distance spanned is unremarkable and the graffiti is an eyesore. The drive to and from the bridge was pleasant enough and I do so enjoy water features so I have no regrets. Travelers should just know before they arrive that pretty much every other covered bridge ever built is more enjoyable than this one.
If you're in the area, and you like covered bridges, stop and take a picture. It's historic, but small. It straddles a pretty stream so other photo opportunities are available.
And you can drive right past it, if you're not watching carefully. A nice piece of history that has been so defaced by grafitti that it is hard to get a good photo. It is also in such disrepair that I would not chance walking in it. Such a shame...
