We planned our trip to just wander through northern Arizona, stopping wherever interested us. We saw a small roadside sign that led us to a Navajo vending area and this attraction. The price was reasonable and it was about an hour's break from driving. We climbed into a old pickup fitted with benches in the back and headed down a bumpy gravel road, listening to stories spun by a young man about his family. We first stopped at an overlook of the Little Colorado River, then saw where his grandmother was photographed weaving over 80 years ago. Finally, we climbed down steep stairs to a protected wash and saw petroglyphs at a ridiculously close range, all on private, family land. This was definitely worth the time and cost.
