The old court house has been transformed into a art "colony" and museum. There are 3 floors, however the city council was meeting on the second floor and the area was not available for viewing. The old vaults and metal file slots gave you a sense of what transpired in the building. The local art was varied and interesting. On the ground floor is a eclectic shop having all sorts of merchandise available. The owner was a fount of local lore.

The Artists have reclaimed, and renewed, the historic old City Hall. They have galleries, art and jewelry for sale, a theater for children, and lots more. We could have spent more time!

I love that the art shows rotate on a regular basis. As a quilter, it's always a joy to stop in and see what local quilters have been doing. They have a room on the main floor. Come in the spring and see their show. Always a favorite stop. Whatever you do, don't miss the copper clad banisters on the main stairway!

This gorgeous piece of historical architecture is filled with the local Center for the Arts. Live theatre, painting & drawing classes, music, dance, quilts, pottery, stained glass, and copper abound in its halls~ It is also the home to a fabulous display of Governor's George W. P. Hunt and Rose Mofford archive items, and tells the tale of its Courthouse past through signage and photos throughout. From its ground floor shops and studios to its very tip-top it is such a treasure waiting to be discovered. ~and as a bonus it is connected to the 1910 Territorial Sheriff's Office and Jail by a catwalk. Whether it is just for touring this restored structure or for enjoying what is always going on inside, the Cobre Valley Center for the Arts is a must see!

Historical, interesting, quaint and full of art and antiques. A great use of the old County Court House, it anchors downtown Globe and provides theater, a gathering place, a quilt show, and countless objects of art.

This beautiful old courthouse has been lovingly been restored to a wonderful Center for the Arts-showcasing wonderful, beautiful artwork. Watch their calendar for special showings, like the Quilt Show held every year. Several times a year, the center hosts community plays put on by the Copper Community players and also hosts a youth summer Theater each summer putting on a new production. There are art classes-a special exhibit collection donated by former governor Rose Mofford and so much more! The courthouse steps are used for outdoor events, like Summer Fest. This is a don't miss stop in historic Globe.

In the process of being lovingly restored by the community, the Cobre Valley Center for the Arts is housed in a 1907 tufa stone structure that dominates the historic downtown area. The street level once housed the town jail, and county justice continued through the 1980s. Coming up on their 30th anniversary as a cultural center, the place is now home to some wonderful local art, quilts, stained glass, and rotating local art exhibits. The gorgeous center staircase on the main floor leads to a theater for live performances, with supporting reception area and dressing rooms. I LOVE the art, the performers and the people! I find it amazing that in such a little mining town, you can find so much talent!
