We went by when we were in Tucson and the store was very busy. They also seemed to be getting a lot of phone orders while we were there. I don’t mind paying more for quality but the prices seemed high. Carmel pecans covered with white chocolate was almost $13 for 8 oz. While they are delicious, I don’t think I will drive a half hour out of the way to get more. The place was hopping, so people must think it’s worth it. By the way, there are no public restrooms. So if you need to go after the lengthy drive, stop at one of the places on the way into town.

You'll pass some of the pecan orchards en route from the Interstate. The shop has naked, sweet and savory pecans, as well as chocolate favorites like turtles, which they call camelbacks. There's a cooler with pecan pies and tarts, too. No room in your luggage? They ship. Unlike many manufacturers that also process peanuts, this appears to be pecans only. If you are allergic I would suggest you confirm this. Needless to say our camelbacks didn't last long enough to go "home".

If you like pecans, like my wife does, this is the place for you! The company is the largest pecan grower in the USA. A video about the company and pecan growing plays in the company store, which offers just about everything you can think of pecan-related from nuts to pies to candy to you name it! They take orders for shipment. My wife bought pecans for herself and her nut-loving friends. After we left the company store, we drove north on the Old Nogales Highway and passed by where workers were harvesting pecans. They appeared to be pretty much all Mexicans. I hope the company doesn't hire illegals, and I hope it pays these field workers a fair living wage for what looks like very hot, dusty work. We drove on the some of the side roads near the plant and saw a lot of poverty.

This is a specialized shop attached to a pecan mill and surrounded by pecan trees. There is a tremendous variety of all products from pecans. The pies are superb.

Interesting learning experience about how pecans are ground & harveted. The company store has many variations of processed pecans, both sweet and savory. Green Valley Pecan Company owns 6,000 acres with over 100,000 pecan trees.
