We made this one of our stops on our trip on rt 66 it was a nice old town with lots of shops and motels we went in to a number of the shops and every one was very frindely a nice place to stop
Really fun little store to visit. Loads of fun and interesting things to see/buy in store. The owners were really friendly and helpful. The front of the store is interesting and fun (half a plane sticking out). There are also old style cars out the front to view as well including an old Police car. This is one of several stores worth browsing in Seligman and the staff/owners are all really good and happy to chat with customers. Stop and browse you will enjoy it and you're on holiday after all.
My husband and I loved Seligman's main street. Loads of crazy shops and may I add each with it's own individual wares (enjoy walking into each shop and wondering what different things you are going to find to purchase). We didn't drive out of the town before we'd visited A&W Root beer's eatery where my husband indulged in a frosty mug of root beer, before deciding to purchase another to take home (which is Australia!).The best bit? As we were crossing back and forth to see the different stores....all of a sudden it hit us....and we stopped in the middle of the road realising we were standing on ROUTE 66 !!!It doesn't get better than that!
I popped in here while on a quite visit prior to embarking on the westbound Route 66 and it's a nice little store, with a few good photo opportunities. The owner was very nice and whipped up a couple of coffees in no time (fresh). Certainly worth a visit while in Seligman
Seligman is the inspiration for Pixar's "Cars" and you can see that with the cars and buildings that line Route 66.It's a little out of the way, but it's a very cool little town, and it definitely feels like you are stepping back in time to a simple, small town, American experience.
We loved this little town so much that we stopped for a second round. There is more than enough to see and browse around so we spend about 2 to 3 hours just shopping and eating. The old motels bring you back to the good times of the fifties. There is a lot of history here.
Cool little town full of shops, classic cars, and great restaurants/cafes. We ate at the A&W Restaurant since it had so many great reviews on Yelp. We were not disappointed. I loved being able to get old style A&W root beer and the food was good as well. The shops there have all sorts of memorabilia and it was great to see all the old classic cars - some on display, others belonging to Route 66 travelers.
My girlfriend and I both stopped here as a part of a tour to the Grand Canyon from Las Vegas. We absolutely loved the place it's a true slice of American History and I feel happy that I got to experience it! Especially if your'e into the 50s/60s, Biker culture or even Native American stuff you'll love the gift stores. Picked myself up some neat souvenirs. Oh and the people in all of the shops (and I believe this was the one in particular) are VERY VERY FRIENDLY! All the souvenirs are very reasonably priced too.
This is one of the highlights of our route 66 trip. Great little place lots of history. Loved looking at all the nostalgia.
Another great stop in Seligman AZ traveling Route 66 out in the southwestern U.S. Memories are in abundance with cars, buildings & food. Photo taking is a must! Store owners friendly, patience and happy. Big crowds of people, little traffic on the road and t-shirts and souvenirs are plentiful. If you enjoyed the 50's & 60's, you are going to love this place! Memories... Memories...Memories!
We stopped here in Seligman (AKA Radiator Springs in the Disney Movie Cars) en-route to the Grand Canyon. This small town on the original part of Route 66 is totally amazing. We bought some souvenirs and had a chat to the locals who were very warm & friendly.Totally recommend visiting this small town if ever you find yourself in the area.
My daughter and I were heading back to Orange County, CA from Flagstaff, AZ area and decided to make stops along the way to visit parts of Route 66. We decided to stop off in Seligman and were so glad we did. We stopped at each of the stores here, including this one and got to chat with some of very welcoming shop owners. This is true, historic Route 66...was just a great feel to be on such a historic stretch of the road. We easily spent a few hours in the town and shops. If you're traveling along I-40, take a break, jump off at Seligman and explore!
Why not get off the interstate and see a little history. Small town Route 66 should be seen by everyone at least once. Go inside meet the people and buy something that said you were there. You will get more than a souvenir, you will meet some interesting people and you will get a little bit of an education about the area. The people here were great and the place is loaded with Route 66 memorabilia. Stop in and give it a chance
What I loved about Arizona in general, Seligman in particular, and Historic Seligman Sundries especially, is the authenticity. The buldings, town and streets are the real deal. They are pretty close to what they have been since the town was built and stand as a witness to America's young history. Sure, you will find more souvenir items than general goods now, but the atmosphere and friendly folks give you a real taste of the old west.
Seligman, a small town on historic Route 66, bypassed by the new I-40 was in danger of dying. But its residents fought back and made this shop, and the whole town, into somewhere really worth visiting. The shop & the town are full of quirky stuff - notices, goods, models, jokes. Definitely worth the detour!
