Oh the Books, Photos, Rugs, Jewelry, Baskets, and the history is stunning. Now here is a place you don't want to miss for both children and adults.
Great displays of art work, great history of Page and Lake Powell area. Staff is very helpful and insightful. Very friendly and willing to share stories as well as give history and answer questions.
liked everything about it. it is a neat place to walk around including gwalking over the dam bridge, very informative and fun.
It's a small museum but has a lot of photos and history, plus a nice little gift shop. It is also a visitor center, so you can get info about tours and things to see in the area. The museum itself is quite interesting. Learned lots about John Powell and the area. Worth the stop.
It was not obvious that this little museum is also a visitor centre (which we discovered by chance) and we were very thankful for. The ladies that run this centre are so helpful, knowledgable and enthusiastic not only about tourist opportunities in and around Page, but also for a much wider area. They really helped us to plan and to maximise the enjoyment not only for our stay, plus for our onwards journey. It is not possible to speak too highly of them and the excellent service that they provided to us. If you are heading to Page and it's surrounds this is simply the best place to go for information on what, when, how to make the most out of your stay.
Not to be missed - a small museum with a huge chunk of history, namely adventures down the Colorado River. Tribute is paid to John Wesley Powell, one of my most admired explorers. In addition, the museum has an extensive collection of Navajo weaving, bones, rocks, and artifacts. Gifts. Knowledgeable staff. Super clean rest room.
My sis and I went through this museum and spent easily an hr in there. There were very informative article and photos. If your in to reading about the area in which you are in down there, visit here. the ladies who work in there are very informative too. Small fee to walk thru...
First, these displays are dated. They are original to the museum from 1969. However, if you care at all about John Wesley Powell and his contributions to the United States, you can learn alot. Born in NYS. Died in Maine? Yes, that's true. But there was a lot that went on in between. And these displays will help you understand. There is also more info about Lake Powell, Page, and the Grand Canyon. Plus some nice exhibits of Indian weaving and culture. The folks that run it are well versed on each subject. And they will give you good advice about travel routes, dining, and thing to see. Also, they can make reservations for you for hotels and tours. $3 for adults and $2 for seniors? An absolute bargain. Do it.
Well worth the admission price. Exhibits included river exploration and explorers, Native American weaving and crafts, fossils, dinosaur tracks and bones. Nice gift shop too.
I booked my tours here and visited the museum at the same time. Very small, It took less than 10 minutes
How interesting is this unpretentious museum. Well worth the visit, a great use of not a huge space. Loved the old photographs - lots of memorabilia. Neat and tidy informative exhibits. Pleasant and friendly staff. Great work. Glad we stopped by!!
combination visitor center and museum. museum was worth about 30 minutes. Picked up some useful brochures.
Very well done for such a small museum. Worth the time. They had a Navajo weaving exhibit when we were there and it was excellent.
We loved this museum...very informative. It wasn't just about the explorer, but also about many other adventurers who traversed the Lake Powell waters. Also on exhibit were Native American artifacts and other interesting pieces of history.
Love this museum. Monthly they have an artist of the month with local artists submitting work. They have lovely items of art for sale and beautiful jewelry. Lots of nice people work there and have useful information for the tourist.
