Played all three courses over 4 rounds in a week at Starr Pass. If you’re not accurate you’re going to lose a lot of golf balls because you can often see your ball in the rough but you can’t get at it because of the vicious cacti thorns. Greens are fast and really hard to read. Definitely choose your tee block choice carefully. Hitting from the back tees will hurt you.Pretty views of the Tucson valley and surrounding mountains. Food at the club house is ordinary and the service is spotty; sometimes great, sometimes not. Beer cart lady was mostly invisible. Practice area is superb. Marshals are good about keeping the pace of play moving.BTW. If you need more balls the marshals or greens crew might give you some for free. But if you’re really desperate go to Van’s Golf on North Oracle Dr. $9 for a dozen. You can guess why I know this.

This property is nestled in the Tucson mountains and is truly a gem. Great course design, challenging without being discouraging. The course is in excellent condition, the staff very friendly and they have an all day good military discount rate. Beware of the jumping cactus...if your ball goes in the desert areas, take a drop!

We stayed in one of the rooms, and went to the restaurant for dinner twice. When I'm in the US, I try to find places that serve good Chicken wings. And these were by far the absolute best I have ever tasted. There were hummingbirds fluttering by when we had dinner at the outside terrace.

a very well kept property with very unique and challenging holes for every level of golfer if you play the right tees . A great practice facility , very friendly staff . Always a treat to play here, like our home course when in Tucson .

The Starr Pass golf course is wonderful and the course is one of the most challenging course in the southwest! A masterful layout and target golf it is a true challenging Arizona golf course at its best! A truly first class course and condition of the course was great and very beautiful greens and fairways super! This is a first class golf course and facility and they treat you right! a course worth returning to and play more! I will return again!

The views are excellent, but you will pay dearly for them. Food and beverage choices are plentiful, but drastically overpriced for the portions they serve. They advertise a happy hour, but there's nothing much about it that smacks of happiness unless you enjoy paying a six-pack price for one draft beer.

Played recently and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Great variety of holes in excellent conditions. Very challenging course in a true desert setting. Terrific value in the summer.

I have played here twice I love the views beautiful course. The pro shop staff is a little bit snooty but that is almost expected for a course like this. If you stay the resort they will shuttle and their staff is much friendlier.

Playing here is so much different than the courses I play in Montana, Florida, and Pennsylvania. The good desert courses, and this is one, are really fun and challenging. The scenery as you play here would be worth the green fees if you never hit a ball. Very attentive staff and everything is superbly maintained.

We stayed in the Golf Club hotel for a few nights. We are not golfers, and with the summer temperatures we did not see other people play golf during the daytime either. But what a fine location this is ! The hotel has no wifi in the rooms (really!), but apart from that this is a wonderful place to stay.

I enjoyed this experience and have learned so much about Arizona. The JW Marriott Starr Pass resort rests within the breathing Tucson Mountain Park that is full of Saguaro cacti. Owner Chris Ansley shared with me his deep appreciation of the health and environment of the golf course. This is one of the best golf resorts I have ever stayed.

Firstly, the golf was tough but so beautiful. The scenery you receive while on the course is truly amazing. Make sure to bring your camera! Secondly, Ashley had Margaritas & Bloody Mary's on tap on the Beverage Cart!!! If the golf and scenery aren't enough for you, maybe loading up on few of those awesome drinks will make your experience that much better. Great Customer service from the entire staff, and thank you again to Ashley for making sure we stayed hydrated!

We recently played the Rattler/Roadrunner course at Starr Pass Golf Club. The course is in prime condition, as usual, and the pace of play was 4 hours on Sunday morning. I have played the course many times and the staff is always very friendly. The starter Mac, has the place running like a clock.Ken Poreda

I have played Starr Pass twice. Its setting is magnificent and the service is good, but as a 16 handicapper, I have not been able to come close to my handicap on this course. For an "A" player, I would recommend it.
