They have great wine and great staff working there. They had a good band there as well on Saturday night. The view out back is very pretty.

This was such a nice winery . The staff was very friendly and I loved the wine. I bought 6 bottles . They also serve food.

A very nice winery on the Shawnee Wine Trail. Great selection of wines for varying tastes. The staff was very pleasant and personable. One of the best wineries on the Shawnee Trail. Especially because they open at 10 on Sundays, great place to start your day!

My wife and I have been to Von Jakob once and would love to go back again soon. We found the wines to be some of the better available in Southern Illinois (maybe not our favorites, but probably top 3 or 4), and the food was really good, as well. It's the perfect place to stop for a Saturday lunch and wine tasting!

We stopped at a few wineries in the area on a recent trip. We did a tasting but did not care for most of the wines here, though my husband did enjoy the beers. We did not eat while we were here.

The first time we went in March, I was in love with this place, so o bragged about it to my friends, and we went last weekend. This time it was quiet, not as friendly, and the young lady behind the bar gave us no information whatsoever. She just stood there waiting, So... I ordered a beer. Still with no information. I decided then to savory first visit, sipping beer and just relaxing.. I'm really hoping my third visit this coming March 2015 is the best. Fingers crossed!

Haven't visited this winery in several years. New location along highway 127 is easy to find. They now offer wine and crafted beer. I I did not try any of the beers but did sample the wine and had lunch. Sandwich was good but wine has lost some of its quality since my last visit. Nice view from the banquet room and outdoor seating.

We got there just a few minutes before closing but they still let us taste a few of their offerings.I am a beer drinker and enjoyed everything we were able to try.Thanks for hooking us up and staying just a little later for us.The place I beautiful and we hope to return soon when we'll have more time to enjoy it

Such a wonderful experience with our friendly server. Food was delicious. Loved their large deck. Easy to get to.

This vineyard always seems to have a busy tasting room so expect to wait unless you come early. Tasted the honey mead - yummy! Also, enjoyed the cider and chocolate stout. It's too bad it's so dark in the tasting room. I felt like I was in a cave even though it was a gorgeous day outside!

Great back deck, good wines, excellent German sausage plate. I can see why so many folks come here to party.

Attended a wedding and reception at Von Jakob Winery and the place is lovely. My gps took me through the boonies to get there, but once we arrived it was worth it. The wedding was outside overlooking the vineyard and was just gorgeous! It went off without a hitch, so one has to assume the staff did their jobs well. The reception was inside and we had a great meal. Lots of wine and brew were flowing. Now that we know this little gem is there, we'll have to make a trip back soon!

We showed up and the place was packed. We didn't know that they were having a festival that day, but we sampled wine, beer, BBQ while local blues music filled the outdoor courtyard. Good time.

I thoroughly enjoyed my weekend on the Shawnee Hills Wine Trail. Von Jakob was definitely our favorite, but all of the stops were enjoyable and fun. We had dinner at Kristofer's at Von Jakob which was four courses of deliciousness!! We were surprised that a restaurant in Southern Illinois would be up to this standard. The wine was very good along with their beer, but the show stopper for us was the hard cider! We hope to make it back soon to the Southern Illinois region and try more what the area has to offer.

Our wine tasting experience was awesome! Sarah was amazing! Wine was good, we went back the next night for comedy night and laughed so much we cried! Good times!
