raue center for the arts

I used to go to this place when it was a movie theater many years ago. They kept a lot of the old charm, not a bad seat in the house. Make sure you get there early as they start there shows on the dot!!. Only negative is you have to go upstairs to use the bathroom, which is kind of inconvenient since most of the seating is on the main floor. Other then that, they do have a full service bar upstairs and you can bring your beverages in to the show with you

I have been here several times. It is a good venue for plays or small concerts or stand up comedy type shows. You typically have good views and sound from most seating areas. Nice addition to downtown Crystal Lake.

I have performed here with an orchestra and the whole setup was great. We went out later on to watch other groups and the stage and lighting were perfect. It has personality and it is in a great area. My only complaint is the lack of parking spots near the theater.

When you travel to Chicago for a show you expect great entertainment. When you don't have to travel to Chicago for that entertainment it is a wonderful evening. Dine first at one of the satisfying downtown Crystal Lake Restaurants and then enjoy a show at Raue Center. Local, Regional and National Acts almost every weekend. Up close and personal with the artists. This theater makes a point of meet and greets available to the average ticket buyer not just a VIP. We have seen great musical productions from their own in house Williams Street Rep Company and the National Piano Conference is an annual extravaganza of piano entertainment. We are constantly amazed at the level of entertainment and being able to take in shows that usually you only find in the city. Go to one show and you come back for more. The theater is a gem and the building beautiful. The Stars in the ceiling will take your breath away....We highly recommend visiting and ask for a theater tour while you are there. They love to show off the building to everyone. They have something to be proud of.

It has retained its original charm and grandeur. The entire ceiling is lit up with stars and the auditorium has an old world feeling to it. Lovely and impressive

been here several times, but recently saw "She Loves Me" which was great, you can see good anywhere you sit, and there is a bar upstairs you can have a drink before or after the show.

Good local actors, well done play and a beautiful venue! Don't know why more people don't review this great, historic venue in downtown Crystal Lake, IL. One block away from train station, plenty of good restaurants and bars and great shows. We also saw an ABBA tribute band and Los Lobos here. Both great shows. Not a bad seat in the house in this 700 seat theater.

The Raue was remodeled several years ago and is a great place to see a play or a concert. The location is downtown Crystal Lake and close to several very good restaurants and other shopping. The venue holds about 750 so it is not that big and every seat has a good view. We have sat in the balcony and main floor. There is a bar located on the second floor that is usually open right before and after performances. We enjoy this place for a "couples" date night out. The Metra train station is about 1-1/2 blocks away from The Raue making it very convienent if you don't want to drive.
