lowell park

We love coming here from spring to fall. Building a fire in a cabin and family picnics. Awesome place to take great photos. I am very happy we have this park for all of our adventures.

If you are looking for somewhere to enjoy nature this is your answer. Lowell park is an amazing area for walking, hiking, picnicking, boating or taking a leisure drive through. There is also a Nature Center. Please visit and enjoy Lowell Park!

This park is several acres of timber with black topped roads. There are hiking trails, a nature center, picnic areas and boat docks. The park has several structures that are suitable for large gatherings and are available by calling the local park district office. There is an old stone cottage that boasts two and one-half baths, and sleeps up to 14 guests. There is a fully equipped, but small kitchen, a large dining area and living room, both of which have working fireplaces. There's also a nice porch and grills outside for cooking. It books up months in advance for weekends, and is not available during the winter months, so call early if you're planning a weekend gathering. Very reasonable prices for the cottage. No charge for park entrance, hiking, etc. Nature classes are offered throughout the Spring, Summer and Fall. Call the park district for information. Wonderful park along the Rock River.

This is where we got married! Take the hairpin curves to the bottom and enjoy the scenery! Better yet, get out of the car and venture on a trail or walk the river front "beach" where Reagan walked!

Have a picnic and watch the river go by............Launch a boat, we haven't for some time. A Place for all ages to enjoy.....

Good brakes! Yes you need them for the hairpin drive down to the river. There are great trails to hike and the nature center is a favorite in our family. The park is pretty with lots of wildlife to see. There are boat ramps to access the river and a parking lot close by for trailers. The shelters can be reserved. So check on the posting at each one to make sure it is not reserved that day. There are plenty of picnic areas to use.
