I used to take my children to Cosley's when they were elementary level. Now, my children have children of their own and we-all return to Cosley's. Each year this small zoo gets better and better. Watch for special and/or seasonal events. All great fun! Free to Wheaton Park District residents (with ID) and all children under 17, there is a small fee for non-residents. A reduced fee for non-resident seniors.Hours vary. Check the website for specifics: http://www.cosleyzoo.org.
Very nice zoo in the middle of Wheaton. Enjoyed all the lights they put up for Christmas. They also sell Christmas trees and they smelled so fresh. Always have a nice time when we visit Cosley Zoo.
My toddler loves coming to this zoo. It is not very large and if you take your time, you can walk the entire zoo in less than 2 hours. I have never seen it too crowded either.
What a wonderful gift we have in Wheaton. A fun place where I can take my grandson and it's free to Wheaton residents. We have a great time every time we visit. Thanks to all the volunteers who make this wonderful experience possible.
I went with my friend and I enjoyed the zoo and the different things and that they had to offer especially on a fall day.
My young son and I found this adorable zoo while visiting the area. We had such a great time! The Zoo was decorated for fall which added to our experience. The staff were very friendly. A zoologist fed the pigs while we were there. She took the time to answer all of our questions and talked with us about the zoo. We would definitely recommend it to any family. What a treasure!
I actually grew up with Cosley and went here (and took all the summer classes) when it was Cosley Animal Farm. This was my first time back in 21 years (I didn't not visit by choice - we moved far away and I moved back to the midwest and was driving through the area with my family). Some parts are the same, (and great), but to see the updates and how well they've kept it up was the best. It's still small and manageable for small kids - but there's plenty to see. The animals are up close and don't seem shy and come close to the fences. My toddler and baby loved it. The train has interactive puzzles that my toddler loved and actually threw a fit about leaving. Staff is very friendly and their gift shop prices aren't insane (thank you - I needed a memento for myself and it was nice it was affordable!). We will definitely stop here again when we're in the area - not just for my nostalgia, but because my kids really enjoyed it.
This is a small zoo that you can bring your kids to for a couple of hours. We live in Wheaton, so it is free for us to get in and we come here regularly.
I took my 6, 3, & 2 year old Granddaughters here, & unfortunately they had more fun playing in the sandbox than they did seeing the animals. This so-called zoo is more like a glorified farm, the largest animal they had was a pair of bobcats. Even though kids are free, it still cost us $14 for 3 adults, & it was definitely not worth it. If you are in the Chicago area you are much better off visiting Lincoln Park Zoo which is FREE to everyone, & has much better amimals.
This place was small but as someone else mentioned good for small kids who won't last all day. It was actually free for us as we are Wheaton residents. My daughter had a blast.
A fun place for small kids who won't last a day at a big zoo. Easy parking, somewhat reasonable admission, and many farm and native wild animals. Nice habitats. Good place for kids to learn about animals in close, neighborhood setting.
To me it is all the counts that my 2 year old granddaughter enjoyed this small zoo. I'm not a big fan of zoo's and prefer to see animals in the wild but this place is clean and the animals have decent enclosures. The bobcats are nice and close up and was her favorite. Deer, sheep, horses, ducks and much more. Not free unless you live in Wheaton
I think this zoo will be perfect for young children! It's a small zoo with mostly farm animals such as pigs, ducks, and horses. I don't think it's very interesting for older kids or adults.
the animals are so friendly there. feeding the ducks is so fun. really clean and pleasant. a relaxing day to hang out with animals
I visited with my kids. They enjoyed it very much. They have some "wild" animals and some farm animals. It's not too crowded. A nice way to spend an afternoon.
