This mall has many stores, but the content of each is lower end or seconds, even for the one high end named department store. The service is non existent, and displays are disorganized, making for an unpleasant experience. There is a food court and only one restaurant located away from the court. We live very close by, but travel south to find stores worth visiting.
This is a giant mall. It was kinda hard to navigate, but the store selection was pretty awesome. I would probably go back at a less busy time.
Older style mall with poor layout. Stores you find in all larger malls. Only Bass Pro was unique to this mall.
Many stores for a variety of tastes. I do think that they shouldn't refer to it as an outlet mall since many of the stores do not have "outlet" prices nor are they actual "outlet" stores. Over the years it has changed and there are maybe 25-30% actual outlet stores. Put on your comfy shoes because there is a lot of ground to cover if you want to do the entire mall. There are a couple of food courts, movie theaters and an ice rink with a large arcade should you want to take time out to relax after a day of shopping. It's not far from Six Flags and Key Lime Cove. Great Lakes Naval base is not too far away so you will see many uniformed naval recruits strolling thru the mall. Weekends are pretty crowded so you may have to prepare for a hike to your car. For the best shopping experience, weekdays are the best days to visit. If you can't find what you need in the mall, there are plenty of strip malls and restaurants along Grand Ave.
The food court facelift has definitely helped to make this mall a little more appealing, but the anchor stores are really the ones I visit most. Good bargains are to be found throughout the mall though.Best days to shop are weekdays. Saturdays are too busy and parking can be a problem. The new parking bays near Bed, Bath and Beyond; near entrances B and F are definitely not an improvement. There always full.
Great place to visit overall, with more than enough stores and restaurants to keep you busy for hours. I wouldn't call it an outlet mall, as only 25-40% of the stores were actual outlets. The only frustrating part of the mall is the design - it's a long zig-zag pattern, so in order to get back to your vehicle there is a LOT of walking involved.
Lots of stores for every taste. Really though, I didn't think some stores had great bargains. Worth checking it out though.
....they call it an 'outlet' store. its not discounted like you would think. its a great place to go if ya just need to get a walk in. but dress light! its warm in there!!
We came with a shopping list of obscure items and found everything we were looking for, plus lunch. Gurnee Mills is one of those malls where you really can spend the entire day shopping, taking a break at a full-service restaurant, and even ice skating and/or seeing a movie. However, the mall is a bit of a mixed bag. The stores run the gamut from full price to outlet and from up-to-date to backfilled and using their predecessors' décor and fixtures. The mall is long, in a one-story z-shaped format, which we shopped by walking in a circle, shopping one side at a time. It has a quirky vibe when you realize it goes from dated with some dumpy stores on one end to brighter and shinier with nicer stores on the other. There are two food courts and there is a noticeable difference between them. Did notice that the "deals" at some outlet stores are comparable to the going prices at full-price stores, and there seems to be an overabundance of shoe stores, many of which have virtually similar selections and prices on Uggs and Timberlands. The Its Sugar store was a fun place to stop with its bulk candy and oversize candy section, and the Kitchen Collection (for those of you who miss Lechters) has just about every gadget imaginable.
The Gurnee Mills Mall had a nice variety of stores. This is a great place to shop. I have to to give a big shout out to a great cab company. Taxi-2-Go was a great family owned company that we enjoyed our rides with. Please give them a call if you are in the Libertyville, IL area. They will be very helpful!
all the usual outlets and some are true outlets, not just special items looking like real deals. wide assortment of good and restaurants inside. could take hours,if wanted. even men can enjoy some specialty mens' sporting shops.
We went to this mall during the Christmas season. I used to go to this mall when I was younger. It was one of my favorite places to shop. I was not pleased with the stores that are at this mall now A lot of stores I have never heard of before. Most of the stores, I would never go back into again. They have not made any improvements to this mall since I was there years ago. I will not be going back to this mall again!! .
This used to be an outlet or discount mall. While there are still some of those type of stores but it is mostly just a huge mall now. Kids like it.
"The Mills". Too big to do in one day. But if you know what you want easy to navigate. Great location near many other restaurants and things to do. We live in the area and go there at least once a week. Many would appreciate "The Mills" for a holiday shopping experience. Make a plan and you could finish gift giving in one day.
For the last five years me, my mother, brother and our significant others visit Gurnee Mills in December and it has become a holiday shopping tradition. There are so many great stores that we are able to make a day out it. The huge Bed, Bath & Beyond store always has some great deals that they do not have at my local store. I would of given it "Excellent", but they combined the Hollister and Abercrombie into one store with 1/4 of the clothing options the separate stores offered.
