have been going here for years. in the summer time is always packed with cars. they have a snack bar with drive in food, resonable priced. theres a place up front that you can sit and watch the movie outside too. people sit in the back of trucks and in lawn chairs and watch the movie, cheap and fun entertain ment on a summers night
Drive in on historic Rt 66. TWO movies for ONE price ($3.00 per person this summer)! Come early for good spot. New this summer was cars only in the first five rows. This was great so cars didn't get their views blocked by vans with their rear hatches up! Sit in your car or bring folding chairs and sit in front of your car. Use your car radio or bring a battery operated one to get the sound as it comes in on 103.1FM. Bring your own snacks or purchase some from the big menu snack bar. Family owned and operated. Bring a frisbee or ball so you and the kids can play catch in the grassy lot in front of the screen before the movie starts or between movies. I go each week during the summer with my kids and we LOVE it!
It is run down. But how many of them are left in the country. It makes Litchfield unique. You need to go at least once in your life.
I loved having my first real drive in experience at the Sky View Drive in. It was fun to see all the families in their pick up truck and I never realised how the sound gets into the car. Fun!
Love the Drive in. Non of the spaces are bad. There are no speakers but the movies are broadcast over the vehicle's sound system. Food is affordable. The only downfall is the trains that go through during the movies. They blow their whistles repeatedly. But other than that the experience is great for families. The price per person is very reasonable.
I used to look forward to the summer when friends and family would gather at the drive in on the weekends. Not any more. This summer, they are ridiculous about telling people where they can and cannot park. Nothing has been upgraded in years. The bathrooms are gross. The concession stand prices are up. And, last weekend when we went, the movie played for about 20 minutes then it broke. We waited over an hour for them to announce that they could not fix it. They said everyone could exit out the entrance to either get their money back or tickets for another time. After waiting in a line for 20 minutes, we just said forget it, and went out the exit. We did not get our money back or tickets. People were going to be waiting in that line for hours.
Take the kids and watch a new release under the stars! Drive in theaters were once big attractions. Try it to understand why. Relax in the comfort of your own vehicle or bring chairs and sit under the stars. Enjoy the concession stand treats! See a double feature for less than a single show at the megaplex.
