We did not expect much of this near-urban hike. We were very pleasantly surprised as we walked the boardwalk over tidal swamps to the inter coastal waterway. Lots of fish and waterfowl. A great and FREE diversion. We will return.

The boardwalk over the tidal waterways makes for an easy walk/stroll, as you enjoy being outside in the beautiful Florida sun. There are intermittent benches to sit on, to rest or observe nature au natural. Alligators, jumping mullet, marine birds of all sizes are likely to be seen. There are adequate restrooms at both ends of the trail, with picnic tables too! Take your dog, but please clean up after them.

I always try to take a walk to the intracoastal via this walkway whenever I get a chance to..The last time was with my elderly mom..It has places for you to take a break if you need to and depending on the tide you might see water birds, lots of oysters, a racoon or two..You never know..It is constantly changing.

stroll the boardwalks, fish from the shore, always quiet, not crowded. Peaceful little gem "under the bridge". When you are ready to leave and feeling thirsty, head across the street to Sweetwaters for a drink, meal or appetizer.

This is a nature preserve that is well worth the visit. There's a long boardwalk that runs through the preserve so that the natural habitat is undisturbed. Also close the Intercoastal where you can fish or watch for dolphins.

Located behind the Flagler Beach library the preserve is a quiet place to spend an hour. My you can fish any where along the walk. Everything is boardwalk through the local plants and wetlands. There are some seating areas along the walk. In one direction you can go to the Intercoastal Waterway and the other direction leads you to a nice picnic area with cover area and bathrooms. Just relax and enjoy the peaceful natural beauty!

Great if you enjoy nature and bird watching. The boardwalk is very well maintained and offers a great view of the local plants and animals. Recommended.

This park is a tribute a great lady as well as to the people of Flagler County who voted to tax themselves to raise money to buy environmentally sensitive lands. Betty Steflik Preserve was an early purchase and has become a treasure. There is a large covered pavilion (picnic tables, rest rooms, grills) that anyone can use or that can be reserved for group functions (www.FlaglerParks.com, 386-313-4020). Lots of parking.A boardwalk that starts near the pavilion leads west to the Intracoastal Waterway and (a longer walk) east to the Wickline Center where there are tennis and basketball courts. The beach is three more blocks east. If you're boating on the ICW, the County boat launch is very close to Betty Steflik Preserve, under the S.R. 100 bridge, so if you're looking for a great place to picnic, this is where you should pull in.

nice area for fishing, but the pavilion and parking lot need to be upgraded....pretty dilapidatedIt could be a much improved location if it was modernized and had a paved parking lot and new pavilion closer to the water?

The boardwalk runs from Flagler to the intercoastal waterway through the salt marsh.. There are various trails and and benches for sitting and watching nature along the way. So glad this area was preserved.

I really hate to publish a review of this local treasure for fear of it getting too popular! It is a wonderful walk over the marsh on a boardwalk that in places could be miles from nowhere. Great for viewing seabirds and sometimes a deer. Where the boardwalk ends, the trail winds through a beautiful woodland. I walk my dog here as do other locals. There is also a small fishing pier at the end of the boardwalk which is a great place to catch a sunset.

Great walking trails and nature abounds. Trails through woods and over wetlands. Park is peaceful and dog friendly.
