anclote gulf park

We enjoyed the trails and sat on the beach to watch the sunset. Park closes at 6 but once you r there you have time to enjoy the sunset before you have to leave

A lot of traffic on weekends and limited parking. Sectioned off beach and swim area also a boat ramp and small fishing area.

My family and I checked out Anclote Gulf Park last week while looking for some new family friendly activities and locations. Here is what we found:Pros:-Lots of facilities. There is a playground, restrooms, fishing pier, picnic pavilions, grills, dog park, etc.-Beautiful view over the gulf.-CleanCons:-$2 parking charge. Most people don't pay it. Lots of dishonesty.-The playground really needs a new paint job.-A number of piles of "junk" sitting around. Kind of ruins the aesthetics of a nice park.I'm guessing from the people who were there during our visit that most guests come for the fishing. We were the only ones who seemed to even venture to the rest of the park. If you're looking for some good nature walks, this park on the far end connects with Key Vista Park via a walking trail.After visiting Anclote Gulf Park we went just down the street to Anclote River Park. We were much more pleased there. It is much larger with better river/gulf frontage, better play facilities, grounds, boat launch etc. Be sure to have a look at my review over there.I've included a number of pictures from our visit to Anclote Gulf Park. Spend a beautiful day at the park. Fishing, relaxing and watching the boats come and go. A great place for photographers with various types of birds in the area. In to reading? Grab a chair and a book. This is my favorite place to spend time with family/friends or just to hang out with ME!!

I thought this was a mediocre park. It could be beautified much more. My husband and I recently moved to Florida and we were checking out fishing piers. The pier is OK, but there was a couple taking up the whole furthest point with their children (not the children's fault as I love children) drinking beer and being very loud! Right then and there we decided this wasn't the park for us. The view from the pier is beautiful!

VIsiting friends in Florida, and they recommended coming here to fish. We had a great time. Fishing pier looks newly rebuilt, and gives you a great place to fish. We were able to catch fish, watch a beautiful Florida sunset, and see some wildlife. There is also a great view of the Lighthouse. Really enjoyed our time here.

Every time I visit this part of Florida we have to come to Anclote Beach. This is the third time on this trip. This beach caters to an older crowd but is also a great family area. All of the three days we have been greeted by friendly dolphins performing a show for the crowd! Next visit to Fla will be the next visit here!!

Walking out the long fishing dock. Also crabbing certain times of the year. Wintertime and cooler waters bring manatees into the warmer waters.

Located on the Gulf of Mexico. This park has a brand new fishing pier with a great view and other parts to fish. The park has a couple of pavilions with tables and bbqs. There also is a dog park with two sections (one for small/medium and one for large dogs). There also is a board which connects to the Key Vista nature park in Holiday. There are bathroom facilities. There is a $2 charge to park.
