We walked some of this paved trail and plan on coming back next year with our bikes. It is 40+ miles long.

Hats off to those that made this trail possible. It is so beautiful, running through farms and woods. It is peaceful and just all around a great ride!

Best bike trail ever. (even though I can't spell it...withlacoochee) Large width trail, asphalt that is smooth and no potholes, covered with trees and moss, flat and not too crowded but enough to keep it safe.

The Withlacoochee Trail lived up to its billing. The surface is well paved with very few interruptions and lots of shade (although we would have welcomed some sunshine since it was 55 degrees!). The only complaint I have is that not all of the drivers yield as they should at some of the crossings.

Perfect for biking but really too rough for roller-blading. A nive variety of scenery. A few stretches close to major roads but overall quite peaceful. The Northern segment ends quite abruptly and somewhat disappointingly in a lonely parking, but otherwise perfect.Note: if you look at the map before you travel on the Northern segment, you'll get the impression that it's a fully residential neighborhood, but despite the fact that some roads were indeed built and paved, very few houses have actually been build and you are still traveling through woods most of the time.

There are absolutely no negatives about this bike trail. 46 miles of flat, beautiful trail with convenient stops periodically for water, bathrooms, and food. Bike shops in Inverness and Floral City if you need a repair; patrols for safety; friendly patrons of the trail everywhere; and, plenty of scenery to enjoy. Nothing better than a few hours on the trail.

This was our first time on this trail, and we really enjoyed it. Very flat with beautiful scenery. Not a lot of traffic on the trial this time of year either, which we appreciated.

I have ridden the entire Withlacochee trail 4 times. By far the most interesting part of the trail is the section from Floral City to its southern terminus.Going North from Inverness the trail paralles a noisy highway and there are a lot of buildings and road crossings. Nice trail even so.

We rode from Inverness to Istachatta, 14 miles and returned. We started at the trailhead on North Apopka Avenue, where there were clean public restrooms. It was a great ride, beautiful and refreshingly undeveloped scenery. We did not take take time time to stop in Floral City or go into the town of Istachatta, but they looked interesting and we will on our next tour. The trail is said to be the friendliest in the country and while we have not ridden all of them, almost every person we passed said hello and seemed genuinely friendly. With the exception of one busy crossing early in the ride, drivers yielded and signaled for us to cross. Where we turned around, we met a woman who was replacing all of the faded stop signs. Based on our conversation, she was very conscientious about which stop signs needed to be replaced and moved to better locations. It was nice to know that improvements were being made. There were signposts with maps i several spots along the trail. Based on this 14 mile stretch, we plan to return and ride the whole 47 miles.

We have done this trail for years. Seems like every year it gets longer. We travel north of Inverness to see the turtles. It is a bit isolated but that is the fun. There is a fruit stand about 5 miles out of Inverness that is a nice stop.South is a nice ride as well. There is an orange stand slightly off the trail about 5 miles out. Stop for free juice. Not sure of the mileage. This is a nice paced trail.

This is a very nicely maintained and easily accessible trail. It stretches across the county and is a great place to bicycle or stroll.

I have riden about 25 miles of this 47 mile trail. It is nicely paved with almost no pot holes or bumps. The inclines are light and the scenery is very beautiful in places. I recommend the trail from Inverness South as it is the most beautiful. North of Inverness is mainly along highways.

This bike trail is a lovely ride through the central Florida countryside. The trail is relatively flat with a few stop signs at cross streets. It is well worth the ride.

The trail is maintain, nicely, but has few "wow" views! Over all a ok trail.I wish florida had hills!

Trail is clean with just enough people that you don't think you are alone. the upkeep is very professional as are the volunteers that pick up the trash and general upkeep
