A group of three of us had a great first time experience back water fishing today with Capt. Jim…he made the trip a real pleasure…great fun! Can't say enough good about the time we had today. Kate, Vic, and Bob say a big "THANK YOU"!!!
My dad, me, and my 8 year chartered a boat. I told Capt. John I wanted my son to never forget this trip, and I wanted to offshore fish. The Captain was very knowledgeable and professional. Highly recommended. Thanks for the unforgetabble trip. My 8 year old landed a 24 lbs Red fish. And we caught many other big ones. He filleted our trout to eat at the resturant, and was all around awesome. Thx capt., Nathan will always remember this experience.
Ive been on the tour several times with different groups. Reading a couple of negative reviews about the eco tour... I wonder what people expect. Dolphins on cue? Some days the wildlife is everywhere, others, not so much. Once I saw dolphins jumping clean out of the water. Another time just a few birds. Yesterday, dolphins, birds, and manatees mating. And yes I have photos.
AWESOME!!! The captain was very knowledgeable and had some good jokes as well...Well all except the speeding ticket jokes. We weren't guaranteed to see dolphins and manatees at the beginning, but we saw many dolphins and a few manatees (which made the speeding tickets more tolerable). Nice relaxing tour had family of 7 ages 70-10 and everyone had a good time. Loved that we stopped at the island and got to explore. The staff was very kind and patient giving us extra time to get there, glad we missed the first tour, according to the captain they didn't see much for that one.
Everyone we dealt with here was very friendly and it was a nice relaxing boat ride if that is what you are looking for. I, however, went to see dolphins and like they will very defensively tell you every time you even ask about seeing dolphins- I know it is "not seaworld so they cannot guarantee anything" but we really did not see much on this tour so I was pretty dissapointed. The captains were informative and friendly but it was too expensive for what it was. We paid one dollar each to go out on a pier on the beach after this tour and saw more wildlife doing that then we did on the boat ride!
The backwater fishing tour was an amazing experience. The service was polite and everything we needed to fish was provided. (poles, bait, etc.) The tour started on time and the staff was excellent. Capt. John and First Mate Eric were not only personable and helpful with baiting hooks and removing fish from lines(in a professional and humane way) but also extremely knowledgeable about each different type of fish and crustacean we caught. They presented each fish for a picture if desired and took the time to let each person on the boat examine the catch. Captain John and FM Eric knew exactly where the fish were biting and literally pointed out the spot in the water to cast and catch the fish. We caught 14 species in all (16 is the record) and saw a large assortment of wildlife including dolphins, birds, and manatees. At the end of the trip Captain John cleaned all of our keepers in a timely fashion for us to have a very nice dinner. This was all around a great experience for the entire family and well worth the price. I HIGHLY recommend this trip to anyone whether an avid angler or an amateur fisherman.
Loved the EcoTour with Captains Jim and Eric, who were knowledgeable and fun. We had a group of 16, ages 5 to 70, and arranged for a private tour. Recommend checking tide chart and reserving for a day with low tide in the afternoon. Spotted lots of dolphin and shore birds. We pulled up to an island/sandbar area and it was definitely the highlight of the tour. We found sand dollars, olives, and lots of little fish. The kids played and swam in the shallow water. Wish we had more time to explore.Take a cold drink and towel, and snacks for kids for return ride. We wore swimsuits and glad we did.
Sail on Arabella with FunCat Sailing , ask for Capt Sammy, or Cap Ron, stand up paddle, jet ski, para sail, kayak, Eco tour, visit disappearing island, and so much more!! Look for the A frame activities visitors center, with a cute gift shop......a must!!!
Parasailing with Ponce Inlet Watersports was incredible. This was on my bucket list, and I wish I had done it sooner! The experience was fun, exciting, and breathtaking. My husband and I went 1000 feet (they will go up to 1200 feet), and it was so smooth up there and peaceful. I was a little apprehensive after watching another couple go before us, but that was soon taken away on our ride. This is an experience everyone needs to take. The staff are hilarious. Oh...the dunk in the water was great, too! Keep in mind, though, that you don't have to get wet. Where's the fun in that, though?
My brother-in law and I booked the fishing trip 4 hours long with Capt. John, along with 2 other guys. Captain John is a great guide and super personable, I felt more like we were all family, going out on a fishing trip. he would take us to a spot and if we were not getting any bites in 10 minutes we would go somewhere else. we all caught a large variety of fish , and Capt. John would bait our line , take the fish off the line and tell you what you caught and if it was a good fish to eat or a keeper. Overall fantastic trip with down to earth guide, Capt. John.We ate the Sea bass it was awesome baked at 375 for 20 mins lemon butter and garlic and crushed black peeper on it tasty !
On spring break this year we took our kids on their first trip to the ocean. While staying in Daytona Beach we did the eco tour for my birthday. It was amazing! Me & my three kids LOVED seeing the dolphins. It was a wonderful experience.
This eco tour was a nice surprise on our Florida vacation. We really enjoyed this tour. If the dolphins are out (which they were), then the crew would turn the boat for good viewing. The crew was really fun and enjoyable as well as informative. If you want to go on one of the islands for some exploring, then be sure to go when the tide is low. We went at high tide and still had a great time!Be sure to also tour the Ponce Inlet Lighthouse as it is less than a block away.Note: Restrooms and snack bar are available before you leave on the boat. No facilities on the boat.
3 of us parasailed together and it was the first time for 2 of us. It was fun. The Captain and crew were nice and informative. We saw a massive manta ray (like 25') and that right there made it worth it. Went 1000', but would have been okay less. Pictures taken were fun and cost $40. We didn't get the video.
My husband and I took our 3 sons aged 22, 17, and 16 on the Eco tour on 4/1/14. It was a really pleasant trip. The captain, John, and first mate, Jiffy, were very knowledgeable and entertaining. Our 22 year old is special needs, and Jiffy was really sweet and kind to him. We didn't see any manatee, but saw lots of dolphins. Stopped at a large sandbar where we got out to look for sand dollars. Didn't find any, but our 17 year old found a live starfish. I would definitely recommend a light jacket. It got cool while the boat was moving.
We purchased our parasailing package online on Monday. Drove up Tuesday afternoon without reservations and all 6 of us were on the boat and ready to go within 10 minutes. We had an excellent time! The guys were really fun and made you feel very at ease. Photos and video were great as well. Joined them again on Thursday for some backwater fishing and though we only caught 6 keepers amongst the 7 of us, no one cared as we were having a wonderful time. The next time we are in the Daytona area, we will be visiting Ponce Inlet Watersports!
