Nothing wrong with being small....and yes, there weren't lots of things blooming, but this garden was a lovely place to spend an hour or more, walking, sitting, enjoying the shade and sun amid trees, shrubs and some flowers. Nice pathways, pleasant volunteers working in the garden willing to give some advice to these two home gardeners. There is a huge area of well tendedgrass for "special events," but I'd pick the pond in the front of the garden -- a picturesque spot.Friendly volunteers at the front desk. I think they should have at least a small fee, based on costsof other gardens we have visited around the country.

The only reason i gave this a average rating was because the time of year. Would be much better when the flowers were in bloom. You don't need all day and can do other things that day also. Entrance is by donation so it doesn't empty your wallet.

I visit every time they have events that involve kids. They also have live music every few weeks which is great when I want to get out the house and sit and enjoy the atmosphere.

As this is a newer attraction, it's not yet complete or very lush yet. But there are several differently themed areas, and a lovely Visitor Center and pond. They also host various community events, e.g. Halloween Party for youngsters. Modest admission.

We visited the gardens for a children's program they had, which they offer on the last Saturday of each month. First of all, the children's program was awesome! They set up fun crafts and activities, such as diy nature collage flower pot, and then they take the children around the garden to learn about the flora and fauna. The gardens themselves weren't the greatest. They had some beautifully developed portions, but as a whole it's not quite as developed as, say, Mckee Botanical Gardens in Vero Beach. However, the prices are a lot less expensive here.

We were slightly disappointed with this garden as there seemed to be quite a lot that is in the course of work. Not all the plants are named which was a pity. The lake is beautiful but beware of the alligators (so it says....). I am sure that in a couple of years time it will be wonderful but if you are expecting it to be all beautiful and finished then leave it for a while. If you want to see quite a lot of beautiful exhibits but many unnamed then go take a visit. Donations are requested and $5 is recommended. Without visitors and donations it will be work in progress a bit longer.... Parking is free.

What is there not to love about Florida in December? Truly enjoyed walking this facility. Very informative and beautiful. Great planned events and would be perfect for a garden party!

It was announced 4 years ago Port St Lucie was to build a Botanical garden along the shores of the St Lucie River. I'm guessing it takes awhile for a botanical garden to take root (no pun intended) and after 4 years it is now beginning to bloom. We visited in January 2014 and found it was a great place to see and learn about the plants and trees that are mainly indigenes to Florida. WE will visit again next year to see the progress.

After visiting McKee and Heathcore we were prepared for a smaller and more immature Botanical Garden in Port St Lucie. It has only been in existence since 2010 whereas the other two have been developed many more years. This area is more like a park and lends itself to park activities. They do have a wide variety of plants and trees and in the future I am sure it will be much better.I would not make this a destination site, but more stopping by for a brief walk through as you travel to your real destination. Port st Lucie deserves a lot of credit for trying to develop two concepts in one area. More volunteers are needed.

This botanical garden features one of the largest collections of banzais. They had several that were over 40 or more years old. They also do weddings here, when I visited they had set up chairs and candles for one later that night. This is a nice place to go if you if you like nature, or just simply want to kill some time.

Port St Lucie Botanical Gardens is not very good in fact it is very poor. This place is typical of what the city does and that is half step. Who ever seen a botanical gradens with weeds growing and not much else? Yet if you want to do wedding photos there it will cost you $50 the place is a rip off

If you are visiting the Port St. Lucie area it is worth a stop at the Botanical Gardens. The property is beautiful and pretty quick to walk around. They don't charge admission, just recommend a $5 donation so you cannot beat the price. The butterfly garden was pretty, but it was too windy when we were there to see any wildlife. The cacti were in bloom so that was worth the stop. There is a large orchid garden that was also half in bloom. I think this is a great place to stop for lunch as it has a park like feel. This is certainly not an elaborate garden property, but it is a quiet place to visit with nature. I am sure that different times of the year offer more blooms and a unique look. If you are expecting it to feel like sprawling acres of mature plant life like a botanical garden in Kauai you will be disappointed.
