Had a great time use it every year family loves To go there. Take food with us sometimes spend the whole day there. The price is good if you get yearly pass. Dislike now sells only day passes.
Was very excited to have Wild Waters open, not just for campers or park visitors but for all the Silver Springs residents . All seemed to enjoy it especially during the excessively hot days. Reasonable cost.
Local news states that our long-time WaterPark in Ocala, Florida will NOT reopen due to politics and reported financial concerns over updating and maintaining it. I felt it important to pass on this news since I gave this place a review months ago with specifics on the new management with phone numbers and I know some families travel long distances. Looks like people will have to travel even further to perhaps Orlando just to partake in a Water experience....yuck! But, don't forget that Ocala still has the Rainbow River Tubing experience (K.P. Hole Park) and other Gorgeous Natural Crystal Clear Springs that stay 72 degrees year round.
Park was nice. Good for little kids and teens to have fun. Pretty cheap, clean, good food, good looking lifeguards, very friendly, fun wave pool, nice slides, clean bathrooms, warm water for showers, get your hand stamped and can eat your own food outside of park if not wanting to pay for food at wild waters.
Wild Waters is a wonderful place for the family to spend a day. Much needed repairs and renovations are finishing up. The park is older and does not have the large thrill slides of newer parks that teens would like, however it is a great place for families with younger children and the smaller size makes it more manageable for a relaxing day. The children's play area is wonderful and will keep little ones busy for hours. The wave pool is one of the best around and worth the price of admission on its own. Food is reasonably priced and good. The staff is exceptional and goes beyond to make sure the visit is enjoyable. The price of admission cannot be beat anywhere for a family fun day out.
The park charges $10 for adults even if you only watch your child and don't use the park. Kids are $5. Not all of the play/slides were open and seems older.
It was great, wish more rides were open. Hope the other rides open soon. Keep up the great work.Thank You
We Visited the wild waters water park 2 weeks ago with our neighbours two young grand daughters. The park is basic compared to the other larger water parks in Florida, there was only one water slide open, the others we were told would be open later this month July 2014 as they are currently under renovation and hopefully upgrade. The wave pool and small children's water area were still a good favourite with the girls, so there was still enough for them to do for a few hours in this heat.I agree with a previous reviewer, that they should reduce their prices for refreshments as more people would buy them and for the gift shop to stock snacks. They charged $6 for a iced slushy, which is a bit over the top by anyone's standards. This had been our first visit since the new take over and I was disappointed that they hadn't improved on the refreshment side of things. There were plenty of sun beds, but not much shade around to shelter from the sun, unless you rent a cabana or sit at one of the few picnic table and benches around the area.Entry charge is $5 for children & $10 for adults, you're not allowed to take your own swim rings but they are available for hire at $5. So for the small entry fee it's a good enjoyable day out.
I took my grandchildren there July last year. Two water slides were closed. Third one was open as well as the wave pool. My granddaughter had a ball on the slide. MY grandson stuck to the wave pool. Cheeseburgers at lunch were pretty good. This year we returned on June 27 with our other grandchildren. All slides were closed. Only the wave pool was open. The dropped the price to enter by $4 and didn't charge for parking. We told the slides were under repair and wouldn't open to later in July. Now I have to ask why these repairs couldn't be done in the winter time. Two slides closed for over a year! And now third one. I don't when that closed. But, if this is the way the state of Florida maintains their parks, I'm not even going bother going to any of their parks from now on. I don't want my grandkids upset. I had looked at their web site before going and there was nothing stated there that the slides were closed. Goodbye Wild Water!
It seems new management is dedicated to bringing this water park up to it's rightful potential. As of the date we were there, 7/6/14, only one water slide was open, the wave pool, kid play area and the baby pool. Parking was free, $10 per person, kids under a certain age...maybe 12 (?), the price is $5. My triplets are 7 and they loved it!! They became bored of the kid area after about 40 mins., so we switched over to the wave pool with sporadic trips to the one large slide ride. The lifeguards were very nice, professional and we watched some of them train in the wave pool while we were there. The park was clean, the lounge chairs were mold/mildew free. They supply free life jackets to kids and the inflatable water tubes were a $5 rental fee for all day, with two sizes to choose from. Lockers were $7 for small, larger ones being more expensive. If you consider the cost of gas to drive to the beach, this is a wonderful compromise for the same amount of money. My Biggest Complaint....$5 for a small pouch of Dippin Dots is a bit much. If they were smart, they'd sell ice cream sandwiches, push up pops, drum sticks, etc. (good old ice cream truck favs) for $3.00 ea and actually sell it rather than watch it freezer burn. The price of food was too high for my taste, my eldest said the avg meal was around the $8 mark and I highly doubt it's of the same quality as WDW. I would revamp that menu and make it more cost appealing, ppl would stay longer and return more often. So much unused space in the gift shop. They need to "7-11" that area by adding/selling cold grabs, like pre packg'd sand.'s, chips, fruit salads, salads, 12 oz bottles of soda/water ect., etc.... in the gift shop, keep the hot foods at the snack bar, put in some recycle trash cans and this place would be way more family friendly. We plan on returning sev. times this summer. I have my fingers crossed that by next summer this place will be a def. season pass for us.
only thing opened is Wave Pool and Kids Area-- last time there it was in terrible shape. They wont say when or if slides will reopen
NEW phone numbers and news as of this moment: 352-877-2267 is for the Water Park and 352-261-5840 is for the Silver Springs Management Company that won the contract to manage the Wild Waters section as well as the State Park. Currently NO Season Passes are being sold yet - this will be decided in the next couple of weeks I am told - because only the Children's area and the Wave Pool are currently up and running. The slides are still being worked on and there is positive hope they can all be repaired. The current fees are for day entrance only: $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for children. The main concession stand I am told is being feverishly worked on to get better quality and service as was once there. More should be revealed in the next week or so, but until then Day Entrance is available for what I have already described as the limited amenities and therefore No Season Passes are yet available because they do not know what they will actually end up having open as far as slides and also because the season is obviously starting later than usual. Good luck!!!
I recently called the park to find out if they will be open this summer. I've never been there but my husband has fond memories of the park. I was told that the park has been through renovations and will be open some time next week. Can't wait to take my kids! Will post review once we visit.
This waterpark is closed and should be removed from the list. I was planning on taking my kids today and got as far as Target to buy towels (we are stuck in Ocala bc of car trouble on the way home from Disney). I happened to mention to the cashier that we were going to the waterpark and she said it was closed. I see now that the previous person reviewed and said it was closed, but I didn't read the reviews before we set out.
Kiddie side is perfect, concessions are way overpriced, a lot of slides were closed, a few slides hurt your back, wave pool is average, they are strict about no shirts or shorts on slide which I think is ridiculous. I understand no jeans or outerwear that has buckles, buttons etc but I had a fitted tank top to hide my new mummy pouch and they refused to let me slide. ... so I guess for me this place is terrible... for my youngsters they loved it.
