florida keys boat rentals- day rentals

We had called and arranged a fishing trip for Tuesday morning. We arrived a keys boat rentals and met with Captain Joe. There were five of us wanting to go out, which would have been about a 450.00 fee to take us out. Capt. Joe said he would be happy to take us out, but we weren't going to catch much. He said the wind was pretty bad we probably not enjoy the trip. He recommended we wait until the next day to try again. The next day was also pretty windy, so Capt. Joe offered to have Capt.Zane take us on a boat tour. The tour was wonderful, and he took us to places to see sea life we probably would not have seen without the guide. We went to a swim beach, and we swam for a while. It was a really great tour. We had already arranged to dive the next day with another company, so fishing was pushed back to Friday. The diving trip didn't go very well because of the rough surf, and no one was real anxious to get back on a boat the next day. Unfortunately we were not able to squeeze the fishing trip in. This review is mostly about the people we dealt with. On the first time I talked to Capt. Joe, he could have taken our money and sent us out to catch nothing. He instead discouraged us from that trip, and worked with us to make sure we had a good time. I offered to pay him up front for everything we wanted, but he said he would rather wait and see how the weather worked. We only ended up using his company for one trip, but he could have taken a lot more money from us. He was one of the best captains we talked to in the Keys. Capt. Zane was also Avery friendly and knowledgable host.

We rented a deck boat for the day. Joe gave us complete training on navigating and safety. He won't let the boats out unless he is confident you can run it safely. He charted a sight seeing course for us and it was prefect. It include a stop for lunch at Kiwi Sands (Awesome). Boats include a color GPS which shows depth which is a must or you will surely run around. It was thoroughly enjoyable.

We rented a 22' sailfish for a great price. The people were very nice. The boat came with all the needed technology, including a GPS with coordinates. Which was very helpful since we have not fished the area very much. We caught fish and had a great time. Would totally go back!

We looked up these guys when our personal boat broke down. We made the trip all the way down from the Tampa Bay area and refused to let our boats issues keep us off the water. It was one of the best decisions we made on our annual trip to the keys. Joe was a breath of fresh air and his wife took the time to explain the local waterways in a thorough yet easy to understand way. They seemed to genuinely care about our recent misfurtune with our boat and went out of their way to make our keys experience better. Thanks guys, we won't forget it!

I went out with my family of 5, and we had a blast!!! Joe is an amazing person and definitely made our trip that much more special in knowing that we had someone who had our best interest at heart! we had a little difficulty with our first boat, and although it was minor and he fixed it right away, he came and swapped out the boat for us in order to make sure we had an unforgettable experience, and boy did he nail it!!! :D i would absolutely recommend this boat rental location to anyone whom may ask me, he and his wife are great people. And pretty much everything is included! They even give you locations to where you can go fishing and guarantee you will catch something! :) I hope you go and have as much fun as we did, because this is something we will never forget.

This mans only goal in life is to scam tourists and locals. We reserved on his website keysboat.com with the promise of a deck boat, free ice, bait, wakeboards, skis, tubes and snorkeling gear. Showed up and there was no boat. No water toys, nothing. We drove 30 minutes from our hotel in key west to rent the boat for the day and ended up with nothing. We heard from locals that joe often let's renters take the boat out and once it stalls he will leave you out until noon so that he can charge for half a day. Joe texted me a picture of a boat that he did not even own and his website shows pictures of boats he does not own. PLEAAE AWAY FOR THE SAKE OF YOUR FAMILY AND VACATION

I'm almost hesitant to review this business and out one of the best kept boat rental secrets in the keys...Three of us took out a boat for the day and went snorkeling, sunbathing on a sandy beach, and had a great time! Joe and his wife were very helpful and gave lots of advice for places to take the boat and things to do.We were staying in Key West, and it was about 35 mins away.For day excursions we'll definitely use them again.

If you want great support and free bait and poles GO SEE JOE. He and his wife (and dog Summer) made our stay in the Keys a success. It had been years since either my husband and I had been boating and Joe gave us excellent ideas daily as to where to explore and took time to instruct us on the working of his boat and GPS system. NO his boats are not new but they were clean and reliable. He made sure we had his cell number and advised us to call with any problems (of which we had none). He even drove us to our location (Venture Out Resort) the first day to be sure we knew the right channels to use. He had a variety of items that he let us use including fishing poles, noodles, snorkel equipment and a bait cooler. His suggestions for fishing holes were on the mark. Thanks to Joe, we had a nice family vacation. We will be back next year!

Joe is a great guy to do business with. Fair, honest, and full of good advice. The boat hulls are a bit older, but the engines are new. My family had a great time, and we rented the boat for three successive days. We were able to do everything we wanted to do, fish, snorkel, and enjoy the beauty of the keys. i would absolutely do business with Joe again!

I have been renting boats for Joe for the last 4 years. He has always treated me fare and boats run well. the boats are a little rough but run good. He always hooks you up with bait and ice and you can come back and get more if you need it. I will keep renting boats for Joe for a long time. Also Joe has a nice seafood shop with very fresh sea food of all kinds.

Stay away! No pride of business ownership - we made a deal for cash and a law enforcement discount to rent a boat for two days, then he added tax! No business owner does that when a cash deal had been negotiated. We are LOCALS to the same key as this boat rental place and Joe and his wife still ripped us off with straight faces. We could see that the 22' boat was not a beauty - we just wanted a dependable vessel to show our guests the local islands and reefs.The free live bait cooler was empty, the "water toys" were chewed up styrofoam noodles laying near the used snorkles, fins and masks baking in the sun on the dock, next to a fresh pile of dog feces. No thanks.Out the mouth of the canal our instincts told us the boat was running poorly and that we should turn around, but we had 5 people counting us for a day on the water.The boat never went on plane, never went faster than 10 mph with the wind at our backs, and regularly stalled. After our disappointing day we went to talk to Joe and he told us to bring the boat back in the morning and we would work things out. Over there by 7:15 am we were told that Joe had just left but would be back soon. After grabbing some coffee we returned to find our same boat being re-fueled and rented to 6 asian tourists! Joe's lack of conscience was appalling to us and confirmed that he had no regard for his customers satisfaction much less their safety out on the water in one of his ill-maintained boats. Joe had an excuse and a sly answer for each of our complaints - he lacked humility and any thought of an apology or guilt. He refunded us less than half of our original monies and acted like we got him one over on him!That evening as we sat at the bar up the canal from Keys Boat Rental, we saw Joe himself towing in another one of his fleet.....an event that happens each day according to the help at the bar!
