We used another service the last time we were in the area in 2011. Had a relative advise to check out Tierra and we weren't disappointed. Lisa on the phone when taking our reservations was polite and patient as I made my decision on what size boat. The gentleman at the hut was equally as nice. I appreciate the location for our destination as it didn't take as long to get to the areas we wanted to get to. I do recommend TVBR. JohnnyKansas City
We tried the first time renting of jets and were not disappointed at all. The man in charge was very helpful, explained everything in a very polite way. We had a great time.
Had an excellent experience renting from this location. The staff were friendly and courteous, and very helpful in making our outing alot of fun!
Terrible service. So impatient and rude. I came because of the online reviews. But the they really let me down. I was trying to be polite but they didn't reciprocate it. Even at the end I left with a "thank you" and they never used any polite word.
The first time I rented a fishing boat with this company, I took my family out to go fishing by the Skyway bridge. On the way out I noticed the fuel gauge wasn't working. When we returned, one of my family members nicely paid for the gas while I unpacked our gear. Later, I found out it cost $90 in gas!! I thought that was way too much as we went straight to the bridge, anchored to fish, then went straight back to the Marina. At the time I just thought that's how it was. Then comes the second time I rented a fishing boat here. This time multiple issues occurred. When I got there, I found out the boat I reserved wasn't working. I specifically reserved the boat with the T-top but we had to settle with a Bimini top which is not as easy to fish out of. But, I let it go. Then we started having engine problems. Every time we stopped, it would take at least 5-10 mins to get the engine to start. This time we did a full day rental and covered three times the amount of water in the same size boat/engine was the first time; however, gas was only $25 this time.In addition, when we returned the boat, I mentioned the engine problems and was told they knew this engine was having problems too along with a lot of the fishing boats. The last straw for me was this. When I got home that night, I remembered I left a bag of stuff in one of the storage compartments. I called immediately and they said they would search the boat in the morning since they were locked up already. Unfortunately, the bag never turned up. I hate to make accusations with no proof, but the bag just didn't disappear. The employee I spoke with made the effort to check the boat twice and ask other employees, but I felt as if someone was being dishonest.Maybe I've just had bad luck, but, either way, I'm not inclined to rent from them ever again.
When looking around for different options for taking a boat out to water ski and tube this ended up being a great choice! Some other places that had boat rentals did not allow attaching stuff to the boat, while Tierre Verde allowed it on their 20' boat. You can rent both the boat and water equipment from them and the prices were reasonable.
Family friendly, clean boats. Even took the time to show us various ones. Gave us local fishing areas to try. Gave great directions for half witted boaters.
The only boat rental place in St Petes that will let you rent a tube to pull....We had our daughter and her 5 friends on spring break with us so I wanted to have more fun than just boating.. I have had a tube on my own boat in the past and I knew it was alot of fun. Lisa was very helpful as were her co workers.....The boat was fast enough for what i needed it for and the Girls had a blast doing something new.....I would recommend them to anyone. As for the Gauges not working..That's so typical of a rental place...As long as she runs and you have fun...its all good ! Scott
My family, 7 adults and an 18 month old, enjoyed a great experience at TVBR. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The boat was practically brand new, and operated without incident, as you would expect from a rental. We had our own, private dolphin show in the IC by Blind Pass. Will definately rent from TVBR again.
All around great, the customer service, cost and rental quality were excellent. They allowed us to have a great day on the water. Must try and highly reccomend!
Had a great boat day thanks to Tierra Verde Boat rentals!! The boat was the perfect size and worked great! The staff was super helpful and made the whole process a breeze. I HIGHLY recommend them to anyone who wants a good boat rental and a great experience!
My husband and I rented a boat from Tierra Verde recently and have decided we probably won't use them again. We reserved a 19 foot boat but when we arrived at 9am to get the boat, they told us we had to take a 17 foot boat. The young girl working was completely unapologetic and was pretty rude when we asked what happened to the boat we reserved. We never got a straight answer out of her. We took the boat they offered us and it worked fine. Most of the staff was very nice, just not the girl at the counter. I wouldn't recommend this company, I've now gotten recommendations from others for boat rental places in that area that are more reliable.
After years of renting boats with Tierra Verde Boat Rental my family and I were extremely disappointed: The boat was old and terribly maintained...it could barely be used for waterskiing. For about an hour the boat did not work and when we called using the VHF radio we did not get a response. We later found out it is out of service! VHF is not a luxury, it is a requirement. It was probably the worst boat we have ever rented anywhere. The water toys are in so-so shape as well. The price for gas was a rip-off. The gas meter in the boat didn't even work, so they charged me whatever they wanted. And most of all, the lady who attended us was rude, sarcastic and unhelpful. My overall experience was very bad and I will never rent again form them. I recommend to go elsewhere.
This place over charges for gas and is a RIPOFF! We go to the same place every time and it's normally $30, but this time it was $66!!!! This isn't the first time this has happened, but I confronted Bill and he got very defensive, and had no explanation. After reading many other reviews, it looks like this is a common occurrence, and you should think twice before you join this club.
We made a reservation for a 19ft center console, we did not get that, we got a 19ft bimini boat. Weather was so bad that a red flag warning was issued for small boats. When asked the lady about not going out because of red flag, she didnt care about user safety.. She said " its your rental do what you want, but your paying for it. They care more about money then your SAFETY! The boat was very slow and hard to steer. We told her we wanted to go to egmont key and fort desoto and when we arrived we were told we could not go because weather was too bad south of their point. But they would still let us go out in 4ft waves the other direction which we did not want to go. You can only use these boats to stay in intercoastal canals, not made for ocean. When we got back we also had to pay $50 for gas. I think the gas machine is rigged also..none of our gauges worked either. Should probably stop lying to people about that, the boat should not be sea worthy if gauges dont work. Ever hear of gilligans island?! BAD Weather!!! Would not recommend this to anyone who is looking for a good time. Just go get a charter boat, less hassle
