The rooftop bar is still our favorite place to spend a beautiful Sunday afternoon with Brittney(server) and Meraux(mentalist) but definitely prefer a weekend when Ian isn't the featured entertainment. Seems like an alright guy but.......lessons maybe?
The tour guide was friendly and fun. The tour was quick and the tasting good. It is free so who can complain? Great little gift shop with good prices.
No grape vines with a view like most wineries i've seen...However no one can complain about free wine. Did a tour and tasted several wines. Very dry cabernet not to my liking but enjoyed their reserva white wine and clos du bois. The rest were too sweet for my liking but you could stick some fruit in there and call it a sangria! YUM YUM!!
Loved the free wine tasting and tour. Mitchell was a fantastic enthusiastic, knowledgeable guide. Loved the whole experience!!
We had a good time on this tour. The tour itself was just the right amount of time, and the wine tasting at the end of the tour was a lot of fun.
We stopped in on Sunday up to the rooftop we went for Sangria and snacks!! To our delight, there was live music (Vinnie) and he was great! We had a few Sangria pitchers and cheese and meat and banquettes and hummus and pretzels, with lovely dipping oils! What a great time, great atmosphere and great service! Just loved it there!!!
The gentleman doing the wine tasting was very knowledgable, friendly and informative. Explained all the wines before each pour. We liked it so much we left with 4 bottles and a corkscrew.
The employees were very knowledgeable and friendly but they only offer self guided tours on Saturdays so you don't get as much information on the facility or the full experience of the winery. You also don't get to taste as many wines as you do on the normal tour. Definitely still worth a visit, just not on Saturday.
We loved the wine testing they offered here. Really helps us on what was best tasting without wasting a bottle. And very reasonable prices.
I found the tour to be time well spent. Learning about then winery and company was interesting. The tasting was well presented. Excellent selection of wines and merchandise for sale. Parking lot on site. Very helpful and well informed staff. Listening to jazz, enjoying wine and looking out over the water would be an evening well spent, when available.
We took the free tour with a wonderful guide ! It started with a brief but informative video and our guide was well informed and answered many questions and gave us great insight to the history of the wine business in St. Augustine and Florida in general . The tour was followed by some great wine tasting with about a dozen different wines they bottle; we enjoyed the variety . We were more than pleased with the visit !!
I absolutely love this place. Naturally, you need to appreciate wine to enjoy a wine tasting. I was impressed with the quality and variety of wines available to try. After you finish the tasting if it is a sunny day you must stop upstairs and enjoy a glass and the view. There is usually a live musician as well. The atmosphere and the red sangria make for a lovely time.
I was very excited to visit, as I'd heard from a friend they loved the guided tour. We arrived on a Saturday afternoon and were greeted warmly, at least. We were informed that there were no guided tours available, only self guided tour. That would have been ok with us but it only took us about 15 minutes to do the "tour" through the tasting station and most of the staff at each station seemed bored and uninterested (or unable) in sharing any actual information about the wine or the facility. We were very disappointed.
This is a must-see while in St. Augustine. After touring their "sister" winery in Clermont (Lakeridge Winery), we were anxious to visit here. The tour information was similar, but the tasting was much more enjoyable with richer, crisp flavors and great information provided by a wine afficianado. We found numerous wines we'd like to learn more about and purchased many to try out at home with our appreciative wine-loving friends. The prices were reasonable and the combo deals were great. We missed the terrace due to the rain but heard that was a real plus for our next visit. Drink up my friends!
This is not a large winery, but big enough to get the job done. A short tour and a quick taste. You can wander around the gift store and pick up many items and the bottles of wine that you like. It will not take you long to visit, but it is an enjoyable stop.
