Such a beautiful sight! Can't wait to see it again! We took a long walk around the entire park! We enjoyed ourselves so much.

We were in town for an extended stay, and took our Buddy to Dogwood Park regularly. There's shade or sun. Ponds or dry areas. Separate area for small dogs.Everyone that we met was friendly. The staff was great! Make sure you take written proof of your dog's immunizations, rabies, etc.

The park itself is absolutely beautiful and the dogs and owners there are mostly friendly and peaceful. The only issue I had here was with the "attendants". They were quite aloof most of the time. My husband and I went to wash our dog and they never answered our questions when we asked politely if they had a certain shampoo etc. We also left a pair of sunglasses inside on the bathtub. We walked out for a few seconds and walked back in when we couldn't find them and they were totally gone. I asked for attendants help and they just looked at us helplessly without moving out of their booth to five us a hand. Terrible customer service. Previous to this we had brought our dog to overnight boarding here. It was not her first experience being boarded but she was a mess when we picked her up. She had patches of fur missing (when she is anxious she chews at her fur) and wouldnt stop yelping. It was pretty odd and she normally behaves perfectly elsewhere and rarely ever chews herself. Overall I would only return for the beautiful park.

If you like to have your dogs run free and able to swim in the lake then dog wood park is good place to go. They have run coupons monthly in penny magazine to take your dog for free or 5 bucks with a bath. My two labs have great fun there. It is very relaxed and open.

I would be a member here - my dog's LOVE this place beyond belief and its been great therapy for our adopted/abused female who sees that life is good here - but the best part of the park for my dogs is the ponds. Unfortunately they get sick (diarrhea, vomiting, ear infections, etc) everytime they swim in it because it is just a mud hole full of water and is not taken care of. I wish that they would put a real bottom in it - like a pool - and a filter and keep the water from getting full of germs. The mud all around the perimeter is also a big problem because my dogs get FILTHY - which means we can only go when I have time to bathe all 3 of them afterwards at home which takes like 3 hours (it costs like $12.50 each to use their baths on top of the entrance fee ($16.50 for all 3 dogs)). Even if you rinse them off with the hose they provide at the edge of the park, your dogs still get filthy leaving because the parking lot isn't paved. They offer daycare - which my older dog LOVES more than anything else on the planet - the reason he can't always go is because again he gets filthy and I don't always have time to bathe him after work but he can't come in my house like that unless I do (ugh) - defeats part of the purpose of the daycare which is to give me a little bit of a break when I get home. The other problem is that the daycare costs $25/day and packages provide extremely minimal discounts. I think this is about average for doggie daycare costs but is still out of my price range for 3 dogs. If it was more reasonable - like $50 a week to drop them off (1 english bulldog + 2 french bulldogs) - they would go every day. Or if they didn't get so dirty we drop them off at least 1 day a week. Overall the park is extremely nice - minus the gross ponds - but could be better if some small improvements were made. Also the building itself is just a trailer and it smells terrible. The other complaint is that it has a chainlink fence facing Archer - I don't understand why they don't invest in a nice white resin fence instead so you can't see inside or have to watch traffic go by from inside the park. Plus it would just look better. I wish I owned this place (lol) because it could be incredible with some improvements - pave the parking/entrance, build an actual building (and keep it clean), and make the ponds into clean pools.

Cody and I went to Dogwood Park for the first time yesterday and were very pleased with the spacious, shady acres, the staff and the clientele. Everyone was very pleasant and it was kind of neat the way Cody got into being "a dog" right away. I had plenty of new friends to chat with and he was simply thrilled to be with others of his kind, romping and playing, fast and frisky. The grounds were very clean and folks were quick to whip out the supplied plastic bags and pick up their dog's pooh whenever duty called. The only reason I did not give it a perfect 5 was that the two ponds were muddy and rather smelly. They are manmade wih heavy plastic bottoms. Maybe there's not enough circulation & maybe there's no chlorine. I was assured before entering that the ponds were kept clean. Their attendant came and poured blue algaecide in it and it just stayed in place, not circulating a bit. The guy said to send the dogs in to stir it around but when we did that, Cody - yellow - came out a little blue-ish, so we left to have a walk and more grass play. I know they probably test for cleanliness, but I wonder if it's enough in this heat. The $10 for the day was more than worth it. Other than the yucky ponds, it was a perfect afternoon for both of us.

We take our dog here for daycare and he always comes home happy and healthy! At other day care sites, he has come home very thirsty. No so with this joint. They obviously care for your pet and keep them happy while you are at work. Also great for overnight boarding. I have no reservations about leaving my dog with the folks at Dogwood Park!

If you really love your dog, and are anywhere near Gainesville and Ocala Fl, spend a day in Dogwood Park with your best friend. Dogwood has acres of fenced in areas for dogs to play. Dogwood is on the SW side of Gainesville just w of 1-75 [There is also one on the S side of Jacksonville right off of 1-95 in Baymeadows a few miles N of the Baymeadows La Quinta}. Dining options in the area are numerous. There is a Captain D's Seafood on the other side of 1-75 about 0.8 miles E of the Park on the L side of the Road, and there is the old standby Subway on the L about 1.0 in the strip mall before the main intersection. It is peaceful and serene, and if you have the whole day, ot better part of the day, it is a great place to be with man's best friend.
